Yoga with Meg and me in Nicole’s house

June 14, 2023: Ok well today started by taking my meds ridiculously early, way earlier than I should have. I just did it with some of the Trader Joe’s yogurts that Papa had bought me the other day, for 12g of fat. I also posted yesterday’s photo of the day, that I actually wrote yesterday but didn’t post. Then I went back to sleep for a few hours, and woke up again around 7:30am and had a bit of actual breakfast, which was some Raisin Bran cereal. Then I went into yoga at around 9:30am, for my 10am class. When I was on the way walking in, I talked to a woman named Meg who had never been to this class before. She said that she went to Jordan’s barre class on Fridays, which I sometimes go to too. But this was her first time in Debi’s barre class. I told her about how this one was usually less busy than Jordan’s, which I think she said something about liking the idea of. Then after the barre class today I didn’t take another picture with Debi because I’d already talked to Meg a ton, and I took our picture in the locker room after the class I think. Then I actually drove straight to St. John’s, and was there a few minutes early so I decided to go to the McDonald’s a few blocks away. Being there really, really made me realize how close I was to the place I used to live in Northeast. Just a few blocks away. Then I had my actual interview for the Catholic school administrative assistant job, and it sounds incredibly incredibly promising. Funny enough after I talked to Tricia and a Spanish-speaking woman named Marilyn for a few minutes, Tricia was actually walking me around the building as a tour, and I decided to call mom to double check if there was anything I’d forgotten to ask. Then mom actually ended up talking to the principal, Tricia, for like 15 minutes just about the effects of my injury and the need for staying on disability for now. I think it was a good conversation. My next step with the school is to set up some dates to do job shadowing, and I’ve already emailed her to suggest some dates and ask when would work for them. The other thing I purposely did was I wore a decently formal top to my barre class just so I could go straight to the interview afterwards. What I did when I got there was I realized I didn’t have the printed out sheet of questions, so right away I just sat down and copied a bunch of the things we decided to say into a notebook I had, so I’d be ready for the discussion, while I was finishing up my McDonald's fries too. And then after the interview, which I think went really well, I decided to stop into Nicole’s house, just because I was so incredibly close to where I used to live, where Nicole is still living with a girl named Anna I think. At least I saw Nicole's Arizona license plate there, so I rang the bell. Took a random selfie in the entryway of the house we used to live in too. Then Nicole actually came out and we talked for a couple minutes. I told her the exciting news with the new job situation, and she said she was currently in the middle of editing a shoot of wedding photos at the moment so she had to go back to that after like 10 minutes. I also told her about how the girl from my elementary school had asked me to shoot a wedding with a second photographer in 2024, and she said she’s not even sure she’ll be in the state in 2024, but she could maybe connect me with someone else if I end up doing it and needing a second shooter too. That’s the wedding for Jodie (from St. Helena)’s sister, that she messaged me about the other day when I posted about looking for photo assignments. So it was good to talk to Nicole too because I could fill her in on the happenings with the possible job at the St. John Paul school and also get some updates on what she’s doing, which is basically just freelance photography, which I expected. Then I went over to Papa’s house and decided to take a shower in Talia’s old shower, and then steal some more of Talia’s clothes she left there too, like socks and a shirt and pants. I also looked through all the cabinets for useful odds and ends, and found another small container of travel toothpaste, which I’ll just put in my cabinet at home since the dentist already gave me one of those yesterday. After the shower, Papa and I started a game of Canasta, and we decided to make some frozen cod and mashed potatoes to eat with my meds. I actually took my meds at 5:30pm, a bit after the time I took them this morning, but taking them then will set me up better for future days anyways. Then we played the rest of our game of Canasta, and Papa actually beat me for the first time we can remember while playing Canasta. He says he thinks he might have done it before, but I texted Hannah that I felt like it was the first time he actually won. Funny enough I’d already called Open Door about doing a shift at 2:30pm today, but I obviously didn’t do that, and Veronica also called me and told me it was fine if I didn’t take the shift too. Also the other funny thing with this job situation is that I don’t think Mississippi Market or Seward Co op are pretty much ever going to get back of me, and a job at a Spanish-speaking school would be significantly better anyways. Now I’ll have interesting news when I go to meet up with Fogo people tomorrow too. Oh and Papa just told me that it's too bad I don't have a photo of him winning at Canasta in here, but it's fine because no one would believe it anyways. I mean also I clearly don't have the photo of the best part of my day in here, because it's the school. and I figured it would be incredibly stupid to ask them for a picture. I did tell them about my yearbook project though, which was relevant just because they said they might need help with the school's yearbook. I mentioned being the high school yearbook editor, and even told them about designing a yearbook for the first year of my life after the crash. They liked the idea, and I think they'd be open to being in photos in the future.
