Yoga with Debi and hot tub

August 30, 2023: Today I started the day by having my meds at 5:45am with an apricot mango yogurt for 11g of fat. Then I went back to sleep for a few hours, and woke up in time to make it to my 10am yoga class with Debi. After class, she asked me if I’d like to come to her show choir events. I told her than I do not at all like singing, so probably not. She also told me that most of the people there would be older, retired people, which was another mark against it in my book. After that, I went down to the hot tub for about one cycle of the bubbles, and used one of my extra BeReals down there. I’d gotten yesterday’s on time with Jodi at the pool. Then, I went home and dropped off my wet swim suit and organized my stuff a bit, and then I drove over to Papa’s house to have some sushi with him. Today, he’d gotten the cheap Wednesday sushi from Lunds. We also played a few games of Blokus together. And then it was time to drive down to Mayo Clinic. So we left, and I drove the whole way. On the way, we also snacked on some nuts, which are something with a lot of fat in them, but I was careful not to eat any too late in the day. We got there and when and right away, Papa said he was craving ice cream, so we found some. I got pistacchio ice cream, and then we got my blood drawn. Shockingly, he got me on the first stick, even though not a lot of blood came out. It was near my right wrist this time. After that, we met up with Dr. Marsh, who is a neurosurgeon. He actually said that even though they adjusted the shunt so it would be really wide open, my ventricles are still very large. Because of that, he actually suggested going in for a revision, aka a surgery where I’d be put under. He does say that it could potentially help my memory and mood. So I might go for it, just after waiting for a month or so so I can get started on this new job without missing time immediately. Then I drove home from Mayo Clinic too, and I actually missed taking my meds exactly 12 hours after the morning ones because I was driving in the car. Instead, I got to Papa’s house and took my meds at 6:30pm with a fiery chicken curry Indian meal for 11g of fat. I didn’t quite finish it, but I did add a piece of naan for 2.5g fat. Also, when I was at Papa’s house, my mom came over and helped me set up my new phone, to replace the old one that refused to take photos in focus unless it was zoomed out. Funny enough I didn’t take any photos for the rest of the day for no particular reason.

Grateful things: Grateful that I have Papa to talk to about everything.
