Yoga with Debi and Gina, Papa + Poke and Eleanor at Dominguez

May 3, 2023: Alright today I stupidly didn’t write anything earlier. I also didn’t write the rest of this yesterday, just wrote that one line then fell asleep. Ok so basically yesterday I had my meds at 6:21am with a bunch of oat milk. Then I worked on yesterday’s photo of the day a bit and added the photo of the El¡ card game to it. I also learned that Sheldon had moved the game night with Fogo people to a day that I’m in Florida, so I basically just asked him if there’d be other ones. He said he’d try to do it a lot on Sunday nights, so I can look for that in the future. I also asked Suheily and Maeve where we were gonna go on the 21st, and they’re not sure yet. Then I went to the gym and I purposely brought an extra shirt because I was planning on showering and changing. On the way there I listened to No Hay Tos in Spanish and wondered what the word “chafa” meant. Apparently it mans shoddy or poor quality. I also decided that I should take the highways going from Hiawatha there next time because I’d forgotten that St. Paul Avenue was closed and you can’t enter going that way. I actually had to type the directions in to Google at one point and it even brought me onto the highway yesterday. When I got to yoga, I saw Debi in the parking lot right away. She asked me how the job interview went. I told her it went pretty well and they’ll call me in a week or so, possibly when I’m in Florida. That’s when I told her that I was going to Florida and I’d miss the next week of class. Yoga class was good. Right before yoga started, Bill actually gave me a call and asked for some translation help for talking to the guy he works with in building named Javier. The statement I was translating for Javier was something about Bill needing to order some lights online for a building they’re working on. The yoga class was good. After the yoga class I went to take a photo with Debi, and another woman was there too and I randomly asked her if she wanted to be in the photo too. The only thing I asked her was her name, which was Gina, and I didn’t tell her about this project at all. I also learned that the girl who was next to me during the class was named Jennifer, and I was kind of meaning to ask her because she looked like she might speak Spanish, but then Jennifer isn’t Spanish name so I didn’t ask her if she did. During yoga class I thought a lot that the brain injury has taught me who my real friends are. That was my realization yesterday, since I usually have one during yoga. Then I did the whole list of Will’s first gym workout and I showered. I’d purposely not showered the night before even though I needed to because I wanted to do it in the gym after yoga. Fortunately I’d brought extra underwear, though I was thinking I’d just get extra socks at Papa’s house from Talia’s closet that she left behind. Then after I showered, I went over to Papa’s house and did that, getting some rainbow colored socks from Talia’s closet. At Papa’s we also decided to get Poke Bowls. We drove over to Hawaii Poke Bowl, and I randomly didn’t get one of the pre-made bowls. Instead I got a custom bowl and it was really good. Unfortunately they didn’t write down exactly what they put in it so I only know what I remembered to write down at Papa’s house, that I got crab, cucumber, jalapeño, diced mango, spicy tuna and pickled ginger. I also tried the octopus and it was really good, but I didn’t wanna pay an extra $2 to add it to my meal. Then we drove back to Papa’s house and I had some blueberry pomegranate sparking water with my food. Then during the day what we did is we actually worked one of my photos for Luis, where I edited the food photo in front of a stock photo of the state fair. I exported it as a .jpg and sent it to him, though I also asked if he had any actual good photos that they own of the state fair to use as my background, since I just grabbed one from Google. Then I was asking Eleanor if she could hang out today, and we were thinking of doing to Sea Salt, and after Papa left for mock trial I literally drove there to check it out, but it was insanely busy and I have no idea why. I also would have had to pay for parking, so we decided to go somewhere else. She asked me where else I knew of, and I said that only restaurants I could think of were the ones right by my house, so we actually decided to go to Dominguez Family Restaurant. At Dominguez I had the X de Guacamole. Unfortunately there wasn’t any meat in it, just guacamole and salad and cheese and vegetables. The chips and salsa were really good though, and Eleanor let me have a tiny bit of the meat leftover from her burrito. At Dominguez there was a little kid who was helping to serve us who only spoke Spanish. Obviously I talked to him in Spanish. I asked him how old he was, his name, and what part of Mexico he was from. His name is Ricardo, he’s from Puebla, Mexico, and he’s 9 years old. I think he said our actual server was his uncle. Then Eleanor and I went back to my house, which was like a four minute walk, and I even wrote down yesterday “idek what we talked about.” I know I talked to her about the fact that I was wearing a pair of my sister’s pants and socks, and she told me that if I had all that extra stuff from Talia maybe I could sell some of it at Turnstyle. That’s actually what she was doing yesterday I think, since Turnstyle is super close to her house. She also asked me how my mom got my Instagram back, and said that hers was hacked too, and she also can’t even log in, just like me. Around that time I actually also drove her back to her house in highland, and she had a glass of wine and I had a glass of water. I actually even went into her house too and told her the realization I'd had about the brain injury teaching me who my real friends are, and she agreed about that, and then I left and decided to go home and talk to some people on language learning apps once I got home. Honestly I just have to say that I had really good food yesterday, between the Poke Bowl and the Mexican food.
