Theatre pics and new volunteering over yoga with Tina

February 21, 2024

Ok, I have to write this tomorrow because it’s 11pm and I was barely able to get the photos in here. I’m working on making my days a lot busier, and today was a great example of one of those days.

Ok, I have to write this tomorrow because it’s 11pm and I was barely able to get the photos in here. I’m working on making my days a lot busier, and today was a great example of one of those days.

Let’s just run through the photos. I have a picture from yoga class with Debi in the morning. I had a plan to workout with Bernie, but he had to cancel because he had a cold on Monday, so I just waited til 10 am and went to yoga. In yoga, as usual I was pissed off by many things my body couldn’t do, but it was alright. Interestingly enough, Jodi’s neighbor Tina was there too, so I grabbed a picture with her at the end.

After that, I drove over to Neighborhood House for my Wednesday afternoon volunteering shift. I talked to a lady named Sarah a bit about my situation. I told her I’m volunteering full time now. At Neighborhood House, there was exactly one time I felt useful, which is when I translated for one client. They were getting checked in, and the man working the front desk only spoke English, so I was able to translate that they wanted a to-go bag, and then they got started. I also learned that “carne molido” is how you’d say ground beef. I learned that from the lady Mariana, who works there full time. I also have a photo of Sarah stocking some shelves. I admit that most of the volunteer work there is things like that, which feels significantly less meaningful to me than when I can use my Spanish.

After my shift, I drove home. Then, I got ready for my nighttime photoshoot at Theatre in the Round. I took my meds before the play too, with what I believe was two pieces of cod. The play that I shot is called Silent Sky, and there were three photographers at this dress rehearsal. I think they were people I’d seen before when I volunteered there. It wa an older guy named Tom and a younger guy named Aaron. She distributed us randomly, and I ended up in the position that the guy Aaron said that he felt was the worst one when he’d been there last time. Honestly, I still need to edit all my photos, and that will take hours.
