Thanksgiving con la familia, plus puzzle and cards

November 23, 2023

Alright let’s go. This might be my last day of notes in my notebook #14. I’ll start #15 tomorrow and it’s kinda pink I think. Today started with me realizing one of my cheeses was expired, and then I made an egg while using my other packet of shredded cheese. I also weirdly enough had woken up at 4am, had one egg and went back to sleep since I was oddly hungry then. I also decided around then that I generally really like weird colored cars, like my old yellow one and my new green one. I decided totally randomly this morning that I’d like for my next car to maybe be purple.

When I actually had my meds, hours later, I made two eggs with a little shredded cheese for meds at 8:15am. I also wrote down around then that I really enjoy writing things down because it helps me to process things

I also decided that one thing I’d fallen into recently, was listening to mom telling me to do things that were actually side effects of being happy and trying to do those side effects in an effort to “make me happy.” Basically, now I do enjoy a lot of the stuff I’ve been trying to enjoy for months. I didn't announce to my family at all that I was feeling happy, but I did mention that I'd been enjoying some stuff that I hadn't been before.

Anyways, back to the morning... Mom came over to help me accomplish a list of things. We were able to do some money stuff and also change the words on potential business cards from “visual journalist” to “photographer } translator,” which I feel like is more accurate to what I’m doing now. After that, I drove her over to my dad’s house, and I brought a bunch of laundry too. I decided to wash a big, stained sheet and towels too. At his house, we had our Thanksgiving lunch. It was lunch because tomorrow I have a PET scan and am not allowed to have any carbs for dinner. We had a nice meal, and then we worked on a puzzle that Aunt Kaky had sent me. Then, we played some cards. It was a game of Oh Heck and also a few rounds of 7-person solitaire. I'm also working on not writing too many irrelevant details in here. so I think this is close to good.

When at Papa's... I had also edited a bunch of Heidi’s wedding photos, and I’ll try to finish some more of them later tonight after writing this. Hopefully I’ll be able to get them done tomorrow, and maybe I’ll be able to order new business cards soon. I already have a collection of a few “post-TBI photos” to include, though I already know a few pre- ones that I'd like to include, like a few from Mayo, since that's a good conversation starter to bring up .

Oh, and for my “med-dinner,” I couldn’t have any yogurt because it has carbs, so I had a piece and a half of Muenster cheese at Papa’s house for about 12g of fat with the meds. Won’t be able to have meds at all tomorrow morning because of the PET scan, so I’ll have to wait until afterwards.
