I'm not even going to write about the 15th because it was a low day for me. But yesterday I had some decent moments. First of all, I worked out with Bernie at the gym. I told him that I’m feeling indescribably low, even though it was my birthday. He asked me about my medication, but I know medication won’t fix my depression. He gave me a birthday present though, which was two of his band’s CDs. They were X, for the tenth album they released, and also the album “Play the Beatles.” Then, I went home and we had my “birthday dinner,” which was really more of a birthday late lunch. We had Chimborazo, which I’d requested. Then at night, my dad invited me to go out with Jodi and Bill to Bill’s daughter’s grandparents’ house. When I was there, the important thing is this one conversation I had with a distant relative of Evy, Mary Shea. It was entirely in Spanish. She said she spent a year in Salamanca, Spain, and also a yearin Guyaquil when she worked as a volunteer there. And in 1981 she spent a year in Salamanca, Mexico. Those are pretty much the only notes I wrote down from yesterday, but speaking with her in Spanish was the onlyp part of my day that really felt good an meaningful. I know I had good moments with Bernie earlier, but I forgot to take a photo with him, so it’s like it didn’t even happen in my mind. At night, my dad and my aunt and I all headed over to Bill’s daughter’s grandparents’ house. While I was there, the good moment happened. I was able to have a long Spanish conversation with a woman named Mary Shea, who had lived in Salamanca, Guayaquil, and Cuernavaca. When she lived in Guayaquil, Ecuador she was working as volunteer. That made me feel a little bt more “normal” about working as a volunteer. I also wore my pink earrings there, which I’d received from Talia the day before.
