Spanish class because I forgot to take some photos

February 20, 2024

Alright, I totally failed to take a single photo at Methodist this morning, even though I did work as a volunteer there all morning. Today, Kathy let me run the computer (checking people in) at the very beginning for the first time. I feel like it works much more well to have someone who can communicate in Spanish on the computer. There was another lady, a new volunteer, who I think used to just be a client and has decided to start volunteering now. I hate that I can’t remember even her first name, even though I had to look her up to mark her down as having come to the food shelf today. Having written this, it occurs to me that it might have been Margaret.

I actually chose to leave Methodist a little earlier than usual because I wanted to attend this one Brain Injury Basics video from the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance. Honestly, a hugeee thing I was wondering was how long the survivor would speak for. The guy today who did it clocked in at 13 and a half minutes telling his story. It was interesting to hear him speak, and my one conclusion from hearing him talk was that I should cut quite a bit more of my discussion of cancer from my speech. It’s definitely relevant to bring up, but I really can’t spend too much time on it.

Then, I did some Lengalia Spanish exercises for a while, probably for a few hours. I also worked on re-creating my blog post from yesterday, because I hadn't done it since I forgot my computer in my car after coming back from Mojo. For a while, I thought I'd have to run to Mojo to look for the computer, but then it ended up being in the back of my car in a backpack.

At Spanish class today, I was very nearly late because I’d forgotten to set an alarm, and when I was sitting down to make an alarm, it told me that if I left right at that moment I’d be right on time. As soon as I saw that, I decided to leave right then. Today at Spanish, I saw that guy named Ben who also goes to some of the Spanish meetups I’ve been attending. I kind of meant to ask him how he felt about them recently, but I didn’t get the chance today.

It’s good that I’m writing this today because I didn’t do that yesterday. I had to attempt to recreate yesterday today, and I’m 300% certain that I forgot a lot of things. For meds... I also had taken my morning meds at 8:01 am with some Belvita breakfast biscuits and about half of a leftover Atkins shake. Then, for my night meds, I did it was two pieces of cod before going to my Spanish class.
