Shopping, earring organize, Spanish class

October 30, 2023:

Well, today was a good day. Let’s go through it. First thing in the morning I woke up and had my meds at 8am with an apricot mango yogurt, and then I called Mayo Clinic to set up more appointments with Jessica. Unfortunately, there weren’t a lot of openings, so I had to do them at weird, different times.

Then, I did an occupational therapy appointment with Jessica. That was my first actual therapy session I wrote about in my new “therapy notebook” that I started a bit before the Colorado trip. At the end of the session, I was able to ask about the appointment times, and she was able to change two of them to more normal times. She said that she said she could see the extra open times, but she didn't think the scheduler could. In our session, we also added “check charges” to my monthly reminder to pay my credit card bill.

Then, I went and had a fantastic shopping session at the Super Target in Richfield. I picked up pretty much everything on my list, even a new notebook, vegetable oil and masking tape, and I also found some sausage, egg and cheese biscuits that have 15g of fat for two of them. Then I went home, and decided to go over to Nokomis Beach Coffee to sit and organize my notes and waste time til my night Spanish class. I stayed there til it closed, at like 4pm, and very interestingly I ran into Annika B., my childhood next door neighbor, who was working there. I was able to ask her about how it was, and she really likes it. She said everyone is like 18-25 and the boss is great. I told her that I was considering maybe getting a part time job there just to get out of the house and do something, and she was positive about that idea for sure.

I was gonna stay there til my Spanish class, but I’d forgotten it closed at 4pm. I stayed til 4, and then went back to my house. While I was out, I’d gotten a cool delivery. My new earring hanger mom bought me had just been delivered. Then, I honestly spent the next two hours hanging up all my earrings, and also finding a bunch of broken ones and throwing them away. In the photo that I have of my shelf, you can also see the mask with Xs over the eyes that I did at the retreat, the picture of Barbie and Godzilla that I bought at an art festival with Hannah a few weeks ago, and Caroline’s painting of me from a few months ago. Organizing the earrings lasted pretty much until it was time for me to leave for my 6pm Spanish 4 class.

At the class, my BeReal randomly went off, and I ended up with a picture of the teacher, even though I hadn't like asked her for a selfie in the past because I think she said she didn’t like photos of herself very much. The interesting thing today was that another class member, named Carl, said that he has a group for Spanish conversation that meets up like once a month or something. I kind of wish I’d gotten his number so I could ask him more about it, but I think we have one or two more classes left anyways, so I should have a chance. He definitely took down a bunch of our emails, so he might reach out about it too.

Grateful: Honestly, I'm grateful for the language of Spanish. Especially because I remember it pretty well and it's something you can pursue and get rather deeply into. Tomorrow's gonna be a good Spanish day too, like Tuesdays always are.
