Selfie, Mayo, Open Door with Jason!, The Wall

July 13, 2023: Meds at 4:15am this morning with two 6g yogurts for 12g of fat total. Then I slept til about 6:45, when Papa accompanied me as I drove to Mayo Clinic for an MRI. On the way there we stopped for our breakfast, which we could do because it was definitely over 2 hours since the meds. I got a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit with a hash brown with hot sauce. Basically, at Mayo I got an MRI, and shockingly they got my IV on the first try, though they did have to have the registered person do it, not the trainee. I stupidly have all the names of the blood draw people written down, but there’s no point in putting them in. Except for the point that one of them had the last name Natividad, which I thought meant Christas. So I asked her in Spanish if she liked Christmas. and she said not in particular, and also that the last name meant something more like nativity, which makes sense, since Christmas is Navidad. Weirdly the MRI was soooo much shorter than last time. Last time it literally took a few hours because they were late getting me in and then I shifted around and they had to redo parts. Today it literally only took like 32 minutes. Papa drove us back because I was feeling a bit tired from laying in the MRI and not being allowed to turn on my side the way I do when I sleep. We also stopped at Jimmy Johns on the way back because I was trying to make sure I ate early enough in the day to have my medication at a decent time. I got the jalapeño ranch chicken Summer wrap they had on a sign, and it was quite good. Also grabbed a Dr. Pepper. Noted I last ate at like 12:20pm. Then I went back home and decided to stay at home because I was closer to Open Door than I would have been at Papa’s. I took a nap for a few hours, and then we had our quite important call with Dr. Flanagan about the MRI and PET scan results. Right before the call I also took my night meds, at 4pm not 4:15, because waiting til the end of the call would have been much longer. For the meds I had a microwave burrito bowl with 10g of fat along with three rice mochi nuggets to get me to at least 11g of fat. Frankly the takeaway from the Flanagan appointment was that I might need to schedule another appointment with him in 3 months, and with neurosurgery too. We also asked some question about the medication. I’d like to go over the information again some time and take better notes. At the beginning of the call, Wendy from Open Door actually gave me a call to check if I was coming later. I was, and I told her that, but I was quite bit late because I was scheduled at 4:15pm and didn’t get there til 5:18pm. At Open Door I actually did have a fantastic time though. Mainly because of the great conversations I had with the CEO, Jason. When I walked in I right away translated for two groups of Venezuelans, and got all three of them registered as two separate families. While I was at Open Door, I also learned that pañuela is how some countries say diaper, since one woman was asking for one and I hadn’t known how to say it. Then I also had my good convos with Jason. I told him that the interview went really well, and he said he was sending good wishes my way and that if I got it, they’d miss me at Open Door but I should definitely take it. At the very end, when I was walking out, I told Jason that I wouldn’t be in next week due to the cabin, and he just said that they'd really miss me. Oh and then for the photos, I’m starting with my daily selfie, from 6:45 this morning, continuing with the only one I took at Mayo, after the MRI I think, then I have my one with Jason, and one I took by the wall we all signed at Open Door. When I took that one, I was thinking I might not get a photo with another person. I did though!
