Selfie and Fogo with Annali, Andy and Mattheas

June 29, 2023: Alright so today is gonna be cool. What is happening is my dad is taking me over to the Mackenzie Pub to meet up with Mattheas at 6pm, and will pick me up when we’re done with our free Fogo meal. The only photo I have in here so far is my selfie of the day, where I’m wearing the Fireball shirt I got at Fogo and my boob earrings from Caroline. Basically this morning I did 9am personal training with Will after I took my meds at 5:30am with a thing of strawberry yogurt. When I went into training I actually stopped at the front desk and had the best conversation ever with the receptionist Hannah who I always like to talk to. I told her about my discoveries with my dating situation, and the way I’ve seen some other relationships that came out of Tinder succeed and then fail, like Talia’s. I also told her how it really annoyed me how so many people met their partners in college, because I couldn’t do that because of the cancer. She said that she technically met her boyfriend through a college friend but that she actually dropped out of Mankato I think, so she didn’t really have the college experience either. She said that my situation just kinda leaves me in the same place as the millions of people who didn’t go to college, even though I did. I also talked to Will during my session, and he had met his girlfriend in college, and they think they’re gonna get married, whenever he gets around to proposing. Then I came straight back and accomplished my therapy. That was also nice. Then right after that I decided to get my stuff together and go over to my dad’s house, since he’s gonna drive me over to Mackenzie’s at 6pm to meet up with Mattheas. We might play some cards first. Ok this is dumb. it’s literally part way through the next day and I still haven’t written this. I kinda don’t want to go back and do everything. Basically what happened is that I met Mattheas at Mackenzie’s, a bar a few blocks from Fogo. We had a pretty good time together. Feel like we’re maybe becoming friends. I even showed him some messages I’d sent Sam the other day. I also scrolled through my camera roll on my phone from 2021, when I was at Fogo and having the time of my life. I told him that I’d be bringing my car into the shop the next day, and he suggested the reason one tire was deflating could maybe be fixed with some gel shot into it. At Mackenzie’s I had a drink he recommended, the blueberry redbull mixed with some blueberry Stoli vodka. We hung out there for a couple hours, til it was time to walk over to Fogo. Then we did that. At Fogo, Annali and her husband Andi came a bit later, and I hadn’t realized til I found him on Facebook that his name was Andrés with a Spanish last name. If I’d known that yesterday I’d have asked him if he spoke Spanish. He does actually, his family is Puerto Rican, which Annali just told me the next day. When we sat down, the manager El actually took us to our table. At Fogo the biggest thing was that I actually discovered a new favorite meat. Because in the past, it’s always been lamb that’s been my favorite, and I even asked for some lamb yesterday. But then Mattheas also asked for the beef ribs, and I literally found them mind blowing. We ate them with some chimichurri, which was a good combination. Lemme go back to drinks. Well basically it seemed like our free tickets four Fogo meals (that Mattheas had gotten for working the holidays) also paid for four free non-alcoholic drinks. So I got the paradise spritz, which was one that I’d kinda memorized the name of back when I thought I wanted to be a server still. I also got the Superfruit Lemonade, which I think has acaí spirit. Mattheas was thinking of ordering something incredibly complicated to give Travis, the bartender, a challenge, but they were out of the Stoli that they would have needed to make a “clean martini with raspberry Stoli”, so I just got something that was on the menu. Our server was a girl named Tatum, and I’ve already written a good review for her, that also mentioned Giselle and Kortney’s names, since we talked to them a bit too. So Tatum actually started right after I left, because she started on February 20th and my last day was February 14th. And then Kortney also randomly gave us some shots of Liquor 43 that she had to use up. Kortney is actually a girl who I worked with as a hostess after the accident, and she’s since been promoted to server, and also occasionally liquor girl, like she was last night. I talked to a couple other people I knew too, like Izzy (short for Israel) one of the gauchos. I told him that I had to stay through Valentine’s Day to leave on good terms. Then we walked out, and we actually tried to go say hi to a different girl who used to work there, named Sam, who I didn’t know. So I just walked to the restaurant she’s at now with Mattheas, and then we walked back to Mackenzie’s to wait for my dad to pick me up. As far as the photos, I took a photo at the table, and a photo in the hallway that we thought would have better light. It kind of didn’t. I also randomly took my two extra BeReals I’d earned for getting it on time at 5:14pm. So one of those in in here too. The best photo might actually be the one of us sitting at the table. Ok I think I’ve said most of what I wanted to say here at least.
