Saturday, March 8th, 2025: Exploring Chicago

I had breakfast to start with, which was leftover blueberry pancakes and bacon, that Papa had made at home.  

Then we drove to pick up my cousin Calvin, who's in training at Great Lakes Naval Station.

Afterwards, we drove to Chicago, to my cousin Casey’s house. I had lunch of a bowl of flank steak and rice, avocado and corn salsa for lunch. I also read to her baby Sam in Spanish a bit. Just kids’ books. Later, we visited my cousin Kallen’s new apartment. She just moved there, and we walked there from Casey’s house, which she owns.

We then had the the homemade pistachio ice cream that Casey had made. Then we went to our hotel... right across from Wrigley Field, called Hotel Zachary.

Later, we went out for dinner with Calvin, at a place called Big Star Tacos. Dessert was horchata rice krispies.

Then we drove Calvin home. In the morning tomorrow we’ll meet a friend of mom’s named Annie to eat breakfast, and then drive home to Minneapolis.
