Papa fixing my car, Papa playing Canasta and Yoga with Lisa

May 14, 2023: Alright. Let’s start with the notes even though today’s not quite over yet. Today I took my meds at 7am with some raisin bran cereal and about a cup of oat milk, and I texted mom and asked when she was coming over with my laundry after I played all my word games and the Spanish word of the day too. I also copied all my meds from the trip onto my med sheet. Then around 10:30am I also decided to have some almond butter toast, which I was finishing when mom got there. Basically she helped me with a bunch of stuff, and I also gave her her mother’s day present, which was a candle with a moon on it. I told her how I’d created a new folder in my desk for “memories,” which has a lot of not-important but very sentimental things. She also helped me write my email to Rosa Rubio, one of my dad’s neighbors who works in bilingual education. I basically asked about possible volunteering or part time job opportunities. Mom also gave me all my laundry from the trip, and helped me put it away. Then I drove over to Papa’s house, and showed him something I’d gotten in the mail from the Brain Injury Alliance, and he told me to just send photos of it to mom. Kind of wish I’d checked my mail while she was there. Around that time Papa also got a call from Liam talking about the possibility of coaching a mock trial suit camp in the summer. Around that time I also texted Liam that I had an appropriate present for him from Florida. I also had some good talks with Papa and told him more about talking to that Brazilian guy Higor on the plane, and told him I was probably gonna finish my green notes notebook today. Kind of fine because this one has the elastic fastener that holds it shut broken, and I’ve already decided my next notebook is gonna be a yellow one I got from CVS, which I’ve already written #9 on the cover of. Then after that Papa decided to fix the pressure in one of my tires of my car, which had been telling me it was low for the last day. So we did that, blowing up the left front tire and checking all the rest of them too, and we joked that he was finally doing the “good father” stuff that his dad would have done. I also asked him about the emergency break light that was on during the drive there, but turned off as soon as I told him about it. It’s weird because I certainly don’t have my emergency break on and I’ve checked it a million times. Then after that Papa and I played canasta. He lost terribly. I even sent a picture of our scores to Hannah, and she said, “NICE.” Papa also told me to send a message to Larisa about the Theatre in the Round play I’m shooting on the 17th, so I did that just checking the time I should arrive. Then I gave the JCC a call to double check the time they had a yoga class tonight, and learned it was 4:30pm. Then I was able to get there on time. I really smartly had remembered to bring leggings and extra socks and bra when I went over to Papa’s house earlier, so then I had clothes for yoga. I did the yoga class with Lisa, who I also saw a few weeks ago and talked to and took a photo with. Lisa said she’s bad with names and that we talked about tattoos last time, and she showed me hers, which I don’t quite remember but I think was a spider. During yoga, since I always have realizations, I kind of realized that I’d like my next tattoo to be a snake wrapped around my left leg somewhere. And I’d like it to be done by the same woman I had the appointment with before the accident, Sara. Last time I literally was unconscious or hospitalized during my tattoo appointment. Gonna try to not do that with her again. After yoga I decided to take a shower. Partly because my skin was peeling and I wanted to get some of it off without picking at it, and also because my hair was a little dirty. Then after the shower I drove back to Papa’s house and had some Trader Joe’s Indian food for dinner. I chose to have the Fiery Chicken Curry, not the lamb, because it had a little less fat in it and I also wanted to have a small piece of bread with my meal. So what I did was I ate dinner and had my nighttime meds at 6:45pm. I had even texted Papa when I was in the gym locker room and told him that I’d love to have some of the Indian food for dinner with my meds. So I succeeded in that. The other stuff I did at his house was I messaged some people, looked at my Instagrams a bit and typed up my photo. Well then I decided to drive home at like 9:45pm because we were extremely tired, and I got home and immediately realized I hadn’t mailed the brain injury form I filled out with mom earlier today. So then I pulled out and went to the post office like a block away in front of the shoe store.
