Panera with mom, painting with mom, and pictures of paintings

September 16, 2023:

Didn’t start this early today, again.

Anyways, before all this, I took my morning meds at 6:30am with mango and peaches & cream yogurts for 12g fat. I fell asleep after that, and woke up again when mom came by. Today I basically spent the whole day with mom. In the morning, she came over and decided to take me to Panera for lunch. Then she took me to my house, where we put some stuff away and I took a shower, which I actually did without the shower chair for the first time since the surgery. I also printed out all of my photos of the day that I’d done for the month of September, which I hadn’t been doing recently, especially given that I haven’t been home much. Then she took me to Panera, where she was using some old gift cards that were donated to me after the crash I think. I got some kind of cheesy pepperoni sandwich thing, just based off the first thing I saw advertised. We decided to keep the chili that came with it for leftovers. After that, we went back to mom’s house, and she read some Twilight to me. I read her a chapter too, but it was starting to hurt my head to read out loud, so I stopped. We also talked about possibly applying for more jobs. Unfortunately, we didn’t make any decisions there. It’s just hard, because pretty much the only thing I want in a job is for it to be social, and that’s not something you can just search for. Then we painted a bit. I kinda hated the ones that I did. The first one was really quite bad, and I decided to just leave it that way because I felt like it kind of encapsulated my life. That’s the red one on the left in the photo. Then we went to Sebastian Joe’s for ice cream. I think got the raspberry chocolate chip, which was very good. I’m glad they let you sample them before you get them, because the one I got was better than the first one I sampled. Then, after we walked around a little bit, I had my meds at 6:11pm with a quesadilla and a chocolate protein shake. We also decided on what would be happening tomorrow, which was going out to brunch with a woman she knew from mom’s club, years ago. At night, she took me back to my dad’s house, and then my dad and I played a round of Canasta. I started off losing, but in the end I won by like 100 points, which isn’t much in Canasta. I forgot to take a picture of that even though it was a nice part of my day, but that’s ok.

Grateful for: I’m grateful for the existence of any.do, which helps me to get everything done I need to get done. I kinda feel like it was created specifically for people with brain injuries.
