April 20, 2023: Well I did not do the thing today where I wrote my photo ahead of time, which I kinda regret. Funny enough I volunteered at Open Door this morning and I didn’t even take any photos of other people on my camera. The only thing I did was I took the selfie with Ron and Barb, the two greeters, just because I wanted to have something of my time there. Really this morning I did an absolutely ton of Spanish. I was super necessary as a translator this morning, and there was no one else to translate either. I’m not looking at notes, which is fine because I know I didn’t write that much down. I also decided to take a shower as soon as I got to Papa’s because I hadn’t taken one in a while and it was on my list of things to do, and I couldn't go to the gym to do it because I hadn't brought my stuff. I just did the shower in the upstairs bathroom that Talia and I had shared as kids. When I was done I borrowed a pair of Talia’s socks that she’d left there when she moved out. I told Papa that I stole her clothes. Well damn it instead of finishing this now I’m gonna download the photos from tonight onto my computer. Ok did that and kinda looked through them and haven’t finished editing. Now I’m gonna look at my notes. So basically today I started a new notebook because I totally finished the last one, which was number 7. So now I’m on #8 and I’m using one of the hardcover green ones that Papa gave me. Well this morning the first thing I did after taking my meds at 6:55am with cereal and milk was I uploaded the photos from True West the night before to Flickr. Then I sent the photos to Larisa*, though of course I sent them to Papa first for him to check them out. Then I went and got gas. It was at the one right by my house and it was basically three quarters of a tank that cost $30.88. Good to know when I’m measuring how much it’ll cost to fill up in the future. Then I went to Open Door and did my morning shift. I started by doing some reminder calls in English, and then I ended up translating a bunch. I translated for one family with little little kids who were talking to me and frankly I did not understand one little kid at all. I just kept saying the same phrase in response. I was intending on taking photos, and I even brought my camera, but I took 0 photos this morning. I did manage to leave my camera in Sean’s office though, and he picked it up for me and called me about it when I was at Papa's. I just ate a little popcorn and then they actually had free pizza there, so I grabbed two slices of pepperoni, which was my lunch. I noted that I last ate at 11:44am for the meds. I also asked Wendy if I needed anything special for my night shift and she said no, just don’t forget Spanish. Oh and a communications woman named Michael talked to me too, she commented on how good my photos were, and even said we could talk about communications stuff some time, because I used to work in that, which I also mentioned. We also talked about how she has a boy’s name and I even told her that the other day in my Spanish class I had met a girl named Luke, just like she’s named Michael. Then after all that I went over to Papa’s and decided to shower before I even had tea. Then I went over to Papa’s and I didn’t have lunch. Instead I’d eaten some pizza at Open Door, so I literally just got there and jumped into the upstairs shower. Then I edited my yearbook a lot and got a new version of version 1(F) done and exported and saved. It’s backed up and sent to Papa now. I also made plans with Talia to look at the yearbook together on Saturday morning at like 11am. Oh and then I went back to Open Door for my 5:15pm shift. The brilliant thing was that tonight there was a troop of girl scouts there helping out, and I even asked the person in charge of them if I could take photos that included them, so that was most of my photos tonight. It was definitely a night of photography. The girl scouts who were there were in troop 57704 and they were all 6th graders. Oh and then the volunteer Maria wanted to take a photo of me with the volunteer Delores but Delores didn’t want to, so then one of the girl scout leaders, maybe Erica, took a picture of me with Maria, which I put in here. After the girl scouts left I talked to Owen a bit more. I asked what he studied and he said he majored in psychology, and I told him I was looking for a new career. Also had already told him about my possible opportunity at the co op, which is when Owen said that he goes to a co op called the Wedge Lyndale, which I’ve never heard of. On the drive home I listened to more Simple Stories in Spanish, which I’d also done on the way there. Ok I’ll call this good, I’ve said most everything now.
