Open Door photography with Scott

June 5, 2023: Ok so first thing this morning I wrote down all my medication times from yesterday, which I hadn’t done before. This morning for my meds it was 6:36am. I also decided to sign up for a 12:30pm shift at Open Door as warehouse assistant, which I called Papa about doing before I did it. Basically I’m gonna get my camera stuff together and then go over to Open Door at 12:30pm. Then what I did was I made sure both my camera batteries were charged and I printed out all my photos of the day for the past week or so. Maybe I’ll make coffee too, since mom asked me yesterday why I wasn’t making coffee more. Oh and I also ate the leftover gyro taco from Hi-Lo Diner for lunch, last eating before 12pm when I also took my noon medication, and now leaving. Alright it’s a good thing I wrote a bit this morning because the day is a lot more done now. Basically I went into Open Door to volunteer for a bit, as a “warehouse assistant.” Frankly, I did 0 things that were “warehouse assistant.” I literally just listened to all their answering machine messages and worked on calling them back for a couple hours. At the beginning there were over 20 of them, and a ton of them had to be called back and scheduled or have their accounts created for them. A little later in the day I realized there was gonna be food I wanted to eat at the night event, so I took my meds a bit earlier in the day than 12 hours apart from the morning one. Stupidly I’d forgotten the Indian food meal in my freezer at home, so I asked Wendy for some snacks to take it with. She gave me a leftover container of walnut and a piece of cheese she had. It did a good job for the meds without filling me up too much, so I could still enjoy the food at the event tonight. Funny enough at the event tonight Lunds & Byerlys was actually catering, and it was like hamburgers and hot dogs and beans and stuff. I talked to the people who were working there a bit, and she said that the catering department actually works out of St. Louis Park, not a specific store. Then, very interestingly, I ran into the Rotarian Scott, who knew me and had seen me give my speech to the Minnetonka club in February. So of course I asked to take a photo with him, not even telling him about this project, just asking for a picture. Oh and my other picture of the day is a screenshot of my BeReal, which I did exactly on time at 6:55pm while Jason was giving his CEO speech on the stage. I did learn during Jason’s CEO speech that the event was called State of the Open Door. In his speech he was really excited about the new building. I’ve never seen the old one, but apparently it was awful. After I shot photos for a bit, I had a serving of the food, where I actually grabbed a veggie burger because they looked interesting. I also realized that you can combine the iced tea and lemonade they were serving to make an Arnold Palmer, and I took some home with me in my mug. Funny enough the other random thing is that after all the speeches when people were wandering around, I explained how the numbers and colors work for allocating the amount of food per family to one couple. Then, when I was leaving Wendy told me she was excited to see the pictures. I kind of wished I had brought my card reader with me, because I had my laptop but no reader because I didn’t have my camera backpack because it was so big. Then then what I did was I drove back to Papa’s house and was borrowed a computer camera reader from him, while he’s doing some play reading thing with some ex-students. Decent end to the night so far, even though it’s not quite over yet. Ok the kids went home and I said hi to Muthu. Now I’m just finishing editing my Open Door pictures. Ok I didn’t post this yesterday, but I wrote everything. Done now, the next day.
