No play Canasta, Tandem with Andres, Lily, Alex, Liam with Cheese Balls

June 10, 2023: So today has been interesting and it’s not even 3:45pm. To start off the day, I had my morning meds at 6am with a cup of avocado for 10g fat. Basically Sam called me this morning and said that he actually couldn’t come out over and hang out because he hadn’t gone to sleep yet and he worked at 3pm, but he invited me to come over to his house and teach him Canasta. So I went over there, and we basically talked about it and literally looked at the cards, but then we didn’t play, and at the end he said he didn’t even wanna take a picture together with the cards, so we didn’t do that, which is why I took the picture with them when I was leaving his place. Basically Sam told me again that he wasn’t ready for a relationship, but he does think that I’ll find one “with someone else.” That was kind of a quote, though I didn’t write it down. So then I went home and ended up calling a guy from Venezuela who I met on Tandem, named Andres or Andi. We had a great conversation. I really feel like I told him pretty much everything, and half of it was in Spanish. Speaking of Spanish, today I also did have a short conversation with Sam in Spanish too, which is when he told me that he didn’t know some explicit word I asked about because he mainly only talked to his parents in Spanish. I also talked to Andi about the feeling that I’ll never be able to make friends because I haven’t made close friends since high school. He told me that he was in a similar situation because a bunch of his good friends fled the country. At least I don’t live in Venezuela. I also told him some stuff that Papa said and he said “I believe your father has reason,” aka your dad is is right with a bit of Spanish word order. Andi also told me, “I want that you up your happiness.” I’m like, dear God, I do too. Right after I finished the call with Andi, I also gave Caroline a call. I told her about the stuff that had happened with Sam and also how I feel about never making friends because most people met some of their closest friends in college and God knows I didn’t. She said that she also had a bad college experience, so we commiserated about that a bit, though she did say that she was lucky to have found her boyfriend Max. Then she had to go back to making her lunch and studying. Oh, speaking of, I also decided to have my night meds a bit early, because I really only had had a piece of toast with hummus and the Trader Joe’s spicy sauce for my lunch. So I had my “night” meds at 3pm with a butter chicken Indian meal with 13g of fat, which was a bit early, but I’m sure it’ll be fine and work. It’s funny because I literally never used to pay attention to taking my meds approximately 12 hours apart from each other, so I guess that’s a new goal I kind of created for myself. Failed at it today. Now I’m just working on this and I’ll talk to some more people on Tandem and continue working on my world capital quizzes, and then head over to Liam’s at 6pm. I’m doing this dumb thing where I’m making a Google doc of all the capitals that I missed on the world capital quiz on JetPunk. I’ve gotta work on Africa, which is what I’ll do now. So then I went to trivia with Liam and it was just Lily, Alex, Liam and I, no big group like last week. At trivia I got a flight again, to try different beers without drinking too much. I had the black cherry kool aid, the lime shady, o-mango and the saison. The bartender Ahna told me that she would have chosen the same beers I did if she were getting a flight. We also had a great conversation with her, just me and Liam and her sitting outside after trivia. She talked about her dad who was a youth pastor, and a ton of other things I didn’t write down. I also clarified how to spell her name, because I knew it was Ana with an h but didn’t know where the “h” was. I kind of wanted to grab her Instagram, but didn’t get around to it. Shockingly we also won third place last night, which is the real first place because third place gets cheese balls. I’d taken another photo before with our beers since we weren’t getting food, and then I took another one with the cheese balls once we won third place. Oh and we also talked to the team that always wins, and the guy whose house we went to the other night said he might wanna have another bonfire next week. That would be fun. Then we walked back to Liam’s house and we had some leftover Thai food, where I had a chicken salad that I ate with spicy sauce that I loved. I actually ended up falling asleep on the couch til 3:30am, at which point I changed to the bed and got a phone charger and plugged it in.
