Ok, I’m gonna be very technical in my definition of “today,” since one of my pics is actually last night after midnight. Didn’t get it in yesterday’s, but I had a great time playing Cards Against Humanity with the Hoefs family. Today was another good day, even though I didn’t shoot a wedding and I’ve still got over 2000 photos to go through. I also got back to my car because Josh drove me at like 8:30am, and then I drove home. As soon as I got home I took my meds, since I hadn't been smart enough to bring Sunday with me, and I didn't have any in my car unfortunately. Meds was 9:12am with two little yogurts. And now, I literally just finished my night meds dinner, which was at 7:45pm with an egg on a roll and quite bit of shredded cheese. Early because I was hungry earlier than 9:12pm.
Let’s go with the photos. First of all, I’ve got one of the bumper stickers from Unruly Women, which is the place Monica works. Today I had my first social time with her since the brain injury retreat. I knew she worked in outdoors guiding or something, but I had NO idea she worked the the company who was running the gear exchange she told me about, for today. At the event, I met her boyfriend of like 7 years, whose name is Tony. I also got a jacket he’d donated, the green one. I like it a fair amount. Funny enough, after I took that picture, I had a couple other meaningful interactions. I talked a lot with this girl named Dayna. She works on some trail/hiking organization. I told her about my story and said tragically I’d given away every one of my business cards at the wedding I shot yesterday. The last thing she said to me that was then when I went home I had to replenish the stores in my car and wallet. I also showed her the QR code that accesses my photo blog and said what it was, though I don’t think she scanned it. I told a lot of people there who said they liked my shirt that it belonged to the mom of a girl whose wedding I shot yesterday. I drew a camera and “yo hablo español” on my nametag. Funny enough, Dayna misread it as “no hablo español.” We talked about how no one would ever announce that randomly.
Anyways, at the gear exchange I got a few items, even though I didn’t bring any to trade. I got the green jacket from Tony, a collapsible water bottle for my car, and a pair of socks that say Twin Six. Got the socks because I’d messaged Caroline to see if I should look for anything for her, and they didn’t happen to have any “wool socks,” but I grabbed one of the ones they did.
At night after I posted this, I went through the first round of "selects" on the photos and figured out that there were a lotta later ones that didn't finish copying the first time. So I'm gonna try to re-export those to replace the broken files that aren't pics. I'll finish that tomorrow.
Grateful: didn't do this for yesterday, but today I was grateful for my car. It's also an example of things getting better post-TBI, since I wanted a green car when I got the yellow one, and couldn't do it. But now I have one! Still gotta edit all the wedding pics, and had a bit of confusion today with Lightroom refusing to open any of them until I changed something in the computer.
