Mock trial Energy Game, Papa with Chinese food, Anita at Open Door

August 17, 2023: Alright today I started off the day being confused about what to do with my meds. I wasn’t sure if I should take them later, like at 7:30 or 8, so I could more easily eat dinner with them when I did them 12 hours later than the morning ones at night. Ultimately, I decided to just take them at 6:30am, before I went to help out at mock trial. Today Papa actually offered to pick me up, which was good because I didn’t have to pay for parking then. Honestly at mock trial I kind of wish that I’d been able to run one of my crosses on a witness, but I didn’t get to. I did work with Liam a bit with witnesses. The more exciting part of the morning is when we played some energy games, basically passing energy to others in the circle. They were games that came from theater, which we’d done during practice in high school too. I was just glad it kept me a little bit active. Then, we dropped off some other kids who he was taking home too, and then went back to my house, where we worked on filling out the thought records sheet a bit, and challenging some of my negative thoughts. After that, Papa ordered some Chinese food from Bill’s Garden and we ate it at his house. I invited Talia too, but she was going to a friend’s house. I also took my BeReal of the day like an hour late, of Papa with the Chinese food. Then I hung out there, and also grabbed a thing of sushi to eat with my meds at 6:30, and then it was time to leave for my 4:15pm Open Door shift. At Open Door, there were literally 40 voice mails in the Spanish voice mail queue, and I got through most of them. I also did a bit of translation and registered a few new clients who only spoke Spanish. I had a pretty good talk with the greeter named Anita too, and that’s why I took a picture with her today. She said something that really helped me, and I just forgot what it was. I went back to ask her again at the end, and she didn’t remember it either. Oh, and I also succeeded in having my meds exactly 12 hours after my morning dosage, at 6:30pm. I had them with a 9g fat sushi thing, and then I also had a piece of chocolate that had 4.5 grams of fat in it. I think I grabbed that piece of chocolate from Jodi’s house the other day. So it worked out pretty well. And then at the end of the night, I talked to the pantry operations manager Sean, and he told me “keep coming back here cause we wanna see you.” So I admit I felt useful there tonight. I only wrote that statement down because the last time someone had said something I wanted to remember, I didn’t remember it.

Continuing my grateful list, since I’m remembering to do this on the day of today.

  1. The sushi I had my meds with was quite good, even though I dropped a bit of it.

  2. The energy games woke me up a bit.

  3. Grateful for being not shy, and able to talk to people like Sean and Anita.
