Methodist with Becky and Kris, Sam at Town Hall Lanes, Max/Caroline at Bagu

May 20, 2023: Well today’s gonna be the best day ever, and I’ve gotta be careful to write not too much so I have space. It’s just after the food shelf now. Well basically this morning I took my meds at 6am with two eggs for 10g fat. Then at 6:15 I walked over to Minnehaha Methodist food shelf because they were doing their once a month Saturday morning distribution. It also turned out that the woman I saw walking out of the church a few days ago was the woman in charge of the whole event, Renee. They were happy to have me, even though I wasn’t scheduled by Anne. My “yo hablo español” pin was extremely useful there again, since not everyone knew that about me at first. I also told people I heard about the place because I live like a block away, and even told some of the other volunteers that I’m recovering from a brain injury and take notes to remember what happens in my life. I showed one woman, Becky, my notebook and said I was on notebook #9. I took the photo of the three of us when I was helping to sort tomatoes with Kris and Becky, who’s the pastor at the church. Honestly I was the first person to notice that some of the tomatoes were bad, and then we spent like an hour sorting them all out, though I was called away to translate sometimes. I was afraid I’d forgotten my cactus mug somewhere, but I’d just left it at home, thank God, which I went back to check mid-shift. I also gave my contact info and email to Renee for future Saturdays. Renee also took me on a brief tour of the church, which I’d never entered before. They also gave me a box of zesty jalapeño chips to take home, and they were really good, though I told the volunteer Haley that I didn’t wanna have too many of them because I had a date at Dominguez at 12pm. She said she loves that restaurant. Also the volunteer Deanna asked me if I write stuff down to remember it, and I said I absolutely do. Then at around 10:15, after some cleaning, I walked home. Mom also called me around then to get the measurements of my entryway for a mat, and I told her that I’m ready for the date. I am. Ok well tragically I walked over to Dominguez at like 11:42, and there was a sign that said it was closed for cleaning today. We talked about Casa María, the other Mexican restaurant, but it might be a bit pricy. Then we decided to actually go to Town Hall Lanes. We had a really good date. Possibly the best first date I’ve had. I learned he grew up in Faribault and briefly lived in Wisconsin too. He’s lived in Burnsville for like a year and his lease goes til August. We also talked about a ton more, most of which I didn’t write down. For food, I got the Cubano without Dijon mustard, and he got the club without mayo. For drinks I got the Indeed strawberry fields, which was a sour beer, which I asked for, and he got the woodford reserve (I had to ask). I also got ranch for our fries, and noted that I last ate at 2:10pm. I’m actually planning on waiting til 5pm for the meds actually, since now I’m meeting Caroline at 7pm. So I’ll just do the meds with some oat milk that won’t fill me up too much, and call that good. So after we ate, Sam came over to my house and I even read him all of my old demerits. He thought they were pretty funny. It was mostly uniform and chatting in class stuff, since I’m a huge rebel. We also just chilled a bit, til he had to go to work at 3:45pm. Ok I did the meds at 5pm then I had 12mg of fat, in a cup and a half of oat milk to not fill me up too much, and then I’ll see Caroline two hours after the meds. Caroline also just decided that we’re gonna go to Bagu Sushi & Thai, and her boyfriend Max is gonna come too. I told her that he can hear about my great date too. Oh and I also decided to get gas before Caroline too. I went to Speedway and had to pay inside, and I guessed perfectly. I had half a tank left and I guessed $20, and it filled it up perfectly to the top, using pretty much all the gas I paid for. Oh and while I was walking out I randomly remembered I had showed Sam the socks I bought Liam. Now I’ve got alarms for 6:31pm, and I’m just playing the word games I didn’t do this morning. Well with Caroline and Max I learned that Caroline is the one to have given me and Hannah the boob earrings, which I told her that my Spanish teacher had corrected me on the term to use to talk about them in Spanish. I also had the Massaman curry at spice level 4/5, which was honestly a bit hot for me. Caroline also got spice level 4 and she said she felt like she could have done 5 since hers wasn't too much for her. We also split an appetizer of baked mussels and I had the Fritz sparkling white wine drink, well over an hour before I had to drive home. I texted Caroline, and then my parents when I was home too. Most importantly I told Caroline that I felt like the Florida trip had taught me that I won't never be happy again. So yeah, that's pretty much it. Failed to write up my Caroline/Max notes last night, but did do the rest. Really good day.
