Methodist, winning, Open Door, Rosie

August 15, 2023: Ok so today’s photo of the day doesn’t have a lot of good photos just because I didn’t have the energy to ask anyone to take a selfie. Instead I’ve got photos from the two food banks. Tragically I didn’t take a photo when I went to help out with mock trial this morning. I did that and saw Liam there. Then I went straight to Methodist food shelf to help out there. Unfortunately, I didn’t feel that useful there today. Then I went over to my dad’s and we played some cards. I beat him in Canasta, which he told me to make an artwork about. I wasn’t really able to, but I do have a photo of what I tried to make into an artwork. Then I went straight to Open Door to volunteer there as well. I talked to Wendy a lot, and also talked to Liz. I told Liz about the new job that I’m starting next Wednesday. I feel like she thinks it’ll solve everything for me. I’m not sure it will. I did get a photo of Liz’s arm though, just since we had a nice talk. I told her that it was kind of annoying that she was planning on leaving Open Door. She thinks we can stay in contact, but it won’t be the same. Then I went over to my dad’s house again, and we took the dog, Rosie, out, at which point my BeReal went off. We also had dinner, which was ramen noodles, pretty much exactly two hours after I’d taken my night meds at 6:34pm. That was my one real success of today. I took my meds exactly 12 hours after my morning dosage. I just brought an 11g fat yogurt with me to Open Door so I could do that. And then at night, after we had our noodles, I played Blokus with Papa, and Talia came in during that. I feel like I kind of was able to have a decent conversation with her, which I haven’t been feeling like I’ve been having for months. So that’s another positive of my day. At the end of the night, my dad told me that if a day has good things in it, it can’t be a “terrible day.”

Continuing my grateful diary from the mood disorders unit. Today, they are:

  1. I still speak Spanish, again.

  2. Blokus with Papa was fun.

  3. I had a good conversation with Talia at night.
