July 1, 2023: Alright so this morning I had my meds at 6:09am with some smoked salmon chunks. They were honestly hard to eat, and they really really really made me miss the yogurts with the correct fat count. I almost had a hard time finishing all the chunks in the hour, even though I did eat them with the barbecue sauce they came with. The other thing that happened to me right away is that Memo, the guy from the food shelf who I was gonna speak a lot of Spanish with today, cancelled on me because he had to help his friend plant something. Kinda sucks because I’d been really excited to have a couple hours session of speaking only Spanish, since he speaks basically 0 English. Then first thing in the morning mom had been planning on coming over to go shopping with me. I texted her a bit before 6:30am and told her I really needed some more fatty yogurts. Then we agreed to go to Trader Joe’s to get yogurts and more food that’s the right fat count. She came over and we did that! We also, when she first came over, found an Open Door shift to sign up for this week, which was the same night of the sci-fi book club. Given that I haven't read that book at all, I'm just gonna skip this month. Actually mom and I had a really useful shopping session, which I said when we were done too. We also got two new frozen meals that aren’t the Indian food, including one that’s mac&cheese, and got some pepper jack cheese slices too. I’m gonna admit that mom told me I should to try to find something to do alone, but what I did was then I went to walk over to Jodi and Bill’s, and mom said she’d drive me because she though carrying my laptop would make it heavy. So she did that, and I went to their house. There I finished my coffee that I’d had at Trader Joe’s and then got a cup of decaf too, since Bill always drinks decaf. Then I went into a back room and actually completed two video chats with guys from Hinge, which is wayyyy better than Tinder. The app just asks you way more personal questions and the people on there seem to actually be open to relationships. The two guys i talked to were named Allen and Peter. I didn’t really really connect with either one of them, but that’s actually another useful feature of the video chatting. Helps me get to know people and weed people out. Took a few pages of notes on those convos, just since I knew I wouldn’t remember. Then we had a short conversation with Jodi’s neighbor Tina, who I see in yoga classes. She mentioned that there was some move the other day she had a hard time doing, but I don’t remember anything difficult even though I was in the same class. Then we went back inside, and Jodi actually gave me two pairs of socks. one of which was rainbow and one of which had outlines of dogs. Then we decided to go to an estate sale before eating. I was quite hungry, so I just munched on some cheese and salami. At the first estate sale I just bought a mug with a cat animation on it, that’s an option to give to Talia. Then at the second sale I think I bought something that might be an actual present. I don’t think Talia reads these but just in case she does, I won’t put it in. Cost $2 though, and I actually did pay out of cash that I had. Also bought two sets of earrings for me, or Talia, and they also cost $1. Then we went to eat, and we ate at Lagos Tacos. At Lagos I had some spicy grilled chicken tacos on corn tortillas. I also had the best margarita I’ve ever had in my life. It was cucumber jalapeño flavored, and quite spicy. We were gonna go to a sushi place, but it didn’t open til 4pm, and I was trying to eat early enough I could take my meds 12 hours apart. Funny enough I did the eating times successfully, but then I forgot to take the meds at 6:09pm. I think it was because I failed to set an alarm. Instead, I just realized on the drive back that I hadn’t done it, so what I did was as soon as we got back to Jodi’s, I had them at 6:57pm with about a cup and a half of whole milk for 10-13g of fat. That was what I chose to “eat” because I was still quite full from the tacos, so I didn’t wanna eat a snack with it. Earlier we had gone down to the edge of Lake Minnetonka in Excelsior, and while we were there Jodi also mentioned that she’d like to move to Excelsior some time, although she also likes Wayzata. She’s probably gonna do that move with Bill, so they’ll long term abandon my neighborhood. While we were at Lake Minnetonka, I actually re-read the first chapter or two of The Investigator. Understood it ok, but I’d like to re-read more of it on my own. Speaking of, tonight ended pretty good too. Papa walked over to Jodi’s house with Rosie, since I’ve stolen his car for now. Jodi, Papa and I played a round of three-person Canasta, and Papa won. I think I lost, and Jodi was second. I love playing Canasta, even if I lose. Then I drove him back home and returned home with his car again. I definitely told him that I felt like this situation would make me appreciate having my actual car back so so so much. Alright, this was actually an ok start to the month of July.
