November 26

Alright, today I had quite a nice morning. Meds at 7:38am with yogurt. I was planning on going for a walk with Jodi and Bill and his mom, but she didn’t wanna walk in the snow, so the three of us went out to brunch. We went to a place called Hot Plate, that I don’t remember having been to before. When there, I decided to take notes on these post it notes I found in my bag since I’d forgotten my notebook. Writing that just now also reminded me that I had wanted to put an extra notebook into my purse, to keep just in case. I’ll do that right now!!! It’s good that I’m writing this, lol.
At Hot Plate, I ordered the huevos divorciados, one of their titles in Spanish, and the server, named Elena, told me that the owner is from Guadalajara. That’s also relevant because after we ate most of our meal, I asked her “why are the eggs divorced?” in Spanish. She said something about how one of them was more well cooked and has a different sauce than the other one. Then I had a bit of a conversation with her and told her how I’d learned Spanish, and also said that I had recently gotten in “a really bad accident that normally causes memory loss, but I still remembered Spanish afterwards, and that’s why I love it more now.” It was Spanish, so that’s not an exact quote. Jodi also got a random pic of me taking to her.
She also made me really glad that I keep a few old business cards on me, because I did the thing where I say “pick your favorite photo, I used to work as a photojournalist.” Again probably in Spanish, so not what I said word for word. She tried to choose a photo without looking, which I haven’t seen people do often, and she ended up with one of little girls at a comic con in Oklahoma. Oh, and before any of this happened, she had also recommended a drink, since I’d asked what their “poinsettia” was. I actually ended up ordering her special flavored poinsettia, which was the champagne along with added cranberry juice and orange juice. So at any rate, it was a better morning than taking a walk in the snow probably would have been.
Earlier this morning, before I had left for brunch, I had messaged a cancer doctor on the Mayo portal and asked him something I’ve been wondering for months, about the potential side effects of taking the meds a little bit late, not that I even do that often. Also wrote down what some of the different colors might mean on my new four-color pens, now that I’m color-coding a bit more. I also decided while I was putting on makeup that whether things come from before or after the TBI has “NOTHING to do with” whether they are good or not. That came out of using a foundation that had come from before, which I had used to glorify because it “came before my tragic accident that would rob me of happiness forever.”
Anyways, after brunch/lunch, I was back at home and I got a lot of important organizational stuff done. I started to sort through some photos to make mew business cards, and also ordered some Christmas presents for mom and Talia. I’m not going to say what they are, so they’ll be an actual surprise! I will say that Jodi/Bill are the ones who gave me the ideas though, and I enjoyed making the presents. Not even crazy expensive either lol. Oh and then, meds at 5:38pm with another approximate quarter of that roasted garlic pizza I made the other day. Think I did that after I showered, but I’m not quite sure if it was before or after.
