September 4, 2023: Well, today was yet another day full of medical complications. I was discharged from Mayo, but it wasn’t in time to make my lunch with John, which I told him. I actually chose not to do it because I knew I felt too sick not even because I couldn’t have made it. I texted him about that too. He definitely understood, given that he’s a brain injury survivor too. Anyways, I also took my morning medication at 4:48am with some chips and two chocolate bars with 4.5g each. I did it so early because they were taking me for a CT scan in the morning, and I told them about the medication needs. I guess I’ll just write through the photos now. I have the photo of me at home after we got back, that mom took. I have the BeReal I took of Papa driving me home in the car. I have the picture of my surgery scar, which mom started to remove too soon because she thought it was the lidocaine patch. The lidocaine patch was actually an eay thing to rip off, and we left the rest of the surgery cover on once we realized that it wasn’t the lidocaine patch. Then, I have another BeReal of mom that I took once I got home, and then finally I have a picture of my thrilling hospital room. Funny enough the other thing from the hospital was that I had a nurse who was from Cameroon in Africa and I told him that I knew the capital of his country, and he was impressed I knew from memrory it was Yaounde, and he quizzed me on a few more too, which I also knew. His name was either Victor or Gordon, but I forget which. Then once we got home, I had my medication only a minute off from the time I had it this morning, at 4:47 pm, even though I wasn’t really trying to do that. I had my night meds with a contained of 11g fat yogurt, and waited two hours to have dinner, which worked because it was so early. Anyways, now I’m chilling with my parents at night. My mom also bought up some coffee ice cream, which was nice. Oh, and at night I also watched a movie with my mom in Spanish, called The (Almost) Legends. she did click on the subtitles a lot to show the English, which made it a bit easier to understand. Oh, and I also learned that the job I thought I was gonna have, isn’t gonna hire me for this position right now, because they need someone to start September 5, and I won’t be ale to since I’m recovering from surgery. The boss did offer me some possible tutoring options, that would start later though. Oh and then the last thing I did today was I had two bananas around midnight because I was oddly hungry.
To be grateful for: I don’t have a headache (thanks, fixed shunt). Also grateful for my friends, even though I haven't been able to see them recently. And grateful I live in a house.
