October 9, 2023:
Alright, let’s get this started. Today was a surprisingly alright day, even though nothing spectacular happened and I failed to take pictures of some good moments. It started with me taking my meds with yogurt at 7:39am, and feeling a touch nauseous and taking Zofran at around 7:45. Then, I dozed a bit before it was time to go to my personal training with Chloe at 12pm. Disappointed I didn’t take any pictures with her, since it was definitely a nice time. I talked her through a bunch of my realizations, and she said that she felt great about all the things I was telling her. I also asked her some more personal questions, like asking what she did with her free time when not working. Her answer was that honestly she’s just had a baby, so she clearly does a lot with the kid. She did say that she used to like to cook and bake, fix her house, take classes and travel with her boyfriend. She also told me she was happy for me, and I told her that I used to try to avoid using the word “happy.”
Then, after training, first I took pictures of the class schedules on some studios, and then went down to the pool and did two laps in the pool. No hot tub today. I also texted Jodi to ask what she was doing today. The answer was “nothing,” not even work, and she then invited me over. So after I took a shower, I drove straight over to her house. There, we ate a late lunch, which was a salad and some cheese. I had some good talks with Jodi, too. One thing she asked me, was “why don’t you want to be alone?” That was a really good question for me, and I honestly don’t have an answer to it yet. We also talked about the time I met up with John recently, and Jodi gave new ideas for things to ask him in the future. It was basically asking about like the actual name of the place he works at, and whether he was in a relationship at the time of his accident.
Jodi also showed me this “Twin cities card club” group on Meetup. The first meeting they have is during one of my other classes that I really like, but I’m definitely open to looking for more events there in the future. Also around this time, I messaged Mikell a bit about a time I could possibly be in at Open Door and talk to her about some photography project ideas. I’d be very, very open to doing pictures of clients shopping, when we have their permission. We set up a time to talk about that tomorrow night, before my shift.
After we ate, I drove Jodi to Home Depot to pick up some bricks, then we stopped in to Target. She couldn’t find the stuff she was looking for, but I found some wonderful things. It was the extra “butterfly” hair clip I’ve been looking for, a new notes notebook (that is velvet and says “secrets” on the front), and a “story of my life” notebook. It’s like a journal, but every single page has prompts on it., like “describe your romantic life at X time,” “what were you doing when you first felt like an adult,” or “record a time you first had an adult conversation with one of your parents.” A lot of the stuff I won’t remember, but it’s still really cool to think about and try to fill out. Maybe I should try to do one every day.
Dang it, I just realized that I failed to ask Jodi, “what do you do with a totally empty day?” Anyways, after hanging out with her, I drove home and went to my 6pm Spanish class. Last time, I was late because I was coming from Mayo, and this time I was like 10 minutes early. In that time, I was able to talk to the teacher, Atala, a lot, and also the girl I ended up sitting next to, Amy. Atala also gave me the Spanish word I could use to talk about all my realizations. It was “epifanías.” She told me how to say MRI too, which is “examen de resonancia magnética.”
Then, I went home and had my night meds at 8:24pm with some spaghetti and four meatballs. Papa and I also went back to the jigsaw puzzle I got at Half Price the other day, which is much harder than the one mom had at her house.
Grateful: A little bit disappointed I didn’t take better photos today. But I am grateful for having a trainer like Chloe, and also Will, my old trainer, who I talked to a little bit before my session. Also grateful I have this project, since I really like just recapping my day at the end of every day.
