Hannah, Ruby and Beo in Wooden Ship Brewing & Cheese in Tube

Updated: Apr 9, 2023

April 6, 2023: Well today ended ok. It started with me taking my meds at 5:30am with vanilla almond cereal with oat milk. Last night I listened to the Reggaeton playlist all night. I learned that tragically the gym was closed today, I’m not sure why. I actually drove over there and then I remembered that Will had said it was closed. So then I logged onto my meeting with Whitney at 11am. We had a pretty good talk, and decided that for the photos, next week I would just read her all of the current week’s photos, and not try to go over the ones that I hadn’t read yet. I sent her them anyways and she’ll look at them. Then for most of the day I just walked around and listened to Spanish podcasts. I even walked to Tipsy Steer and asked them for napkins to blow my nose. Tragically my headphones died right after I stopped into Tipsy Steer so I had to walk back without my Spanish podcast playing. Then at 4:22pm I had my night meds with 28 almonds from Jodi, for 11g fat. Then I met up with Hannah and Ruby, which was clearly the best part of my day. Hannah came over for a few minutes before we left and I showed her the yearbook, and she came up with an idea for my cover. It’s just a black picture of one of my x-rays with the title over it. I started with the 155 beats per minute beer, which Hannah bought me under the understanding that I’d buy her second. The 155 beats beer was a sour, which I asked for. Ruby had brought her dog name Beu, a sheepadoodle, who is about 71/2 months old. Then we got some food from the food truck outside, called La Tortilla Catering. I had to message Wooden Ship on Instagram to get the name. I failed to write it down. What I got was the cauliflower tacos with chorizo. Hannah told me good job ordering in Spanish, which I did. I also asked how to say napkin, which is servilleta. Hannah also suggested some shows to me, including The Bear, on Netflix, and the Netflix movie Roma, in Spanish. I also told Hannah my brilliant idea of only speaking Spanish on the way to Florida. I’m not sure if she’s totally on board, but at least I can only speak Spanish with her on the way there. It also randomly occurred to me that given the number of times I’ve thought, “I bet I’m the only person with TBI in the room,” it has never once occurred to me to think the same thing about my cancer. Like, “God, I bet I’m the only young person with cancer in this room.” Just goes to show that TBI is worse than cancer by a lot. The other kind of interesting thing that happened was I told showed Ruby my whole Yearbook pdf and told her that CRP is not even close to the worst thing that’s happened to me. Ah well, I also threw in a photo here of the cheese tube that Ruby was feeding her dog Beo. He liked it I think. Idk if I wrote everything that happened today but I’ll go with it for now.
