May 7, 2023: Really good day today. I’m just gonna write through my notes because my sunburn is hurting me so badly. I had my meds at 8:15am this morning with coffee and oat milk and half an avocado toast and a small bowl of yogurt and blueberries, bananas, raspberries. Mom also took my hair out of the braid and rebraided it. Funny enough I’d woken up at 5am and went back to sleep, and I purposely didn’t have my meds at 5am with a cup and a half of oat milk even though Hannah and I woke up and went to the bathroom then. Then when I actually got up a bit after 8am I had my breakfast and talked to Hannah a bit about the fact that we should go to Trader Joe’s together some time. She and my mom think that if I like avocado toast I should just get some packets of guacamole, not buy whole avocados that can go bad. Speaking of what I was wearing today, I wore the twisty blue swim suit I’d gotten at REI, the stretchy black shorts, and the pink crop top I’d worn to Crave with Fogo people before the accident. I also brought my Mountain Dew hat. Mom drove us to the kayaking place, called Sunrise City Adventures. On the way there, Hannah and I talked about the fact that her mom likes to be busy like I do. Hannah and mom also talked to me a bit about happiness and said that I’m meeting people and doing things that make me happy. Mom also talked a bit about the path they took to buy the 4224 house, and said that I was actually the reason they got that house, because they brought the baby me to a showing and the guy loved me and wanted it to go to a family. During kayaking we looked at fish swimming by, some of the oysters on the trees, and some crabs. It was a great time. Hannah said we were a “championship paddle team” when we were paddling together, though for part of it she was doing more than me and steering. For the photos I have one of Hannah and me standing on a sandbar, and then one I took to put on Snapchat while we were in the boat. On the kayak for a while I thought I’d forgotten my hat and it was too sunny, but then I looked more carefully and found it in the dry bag on the kayak. Had to ask about what that dry bag was called, lol. After we finished kayaking we all went to a place called The Red Onion Eatery, where we had amazing sandwiches. The server, whose name was Layla, which I asked, commented on my tattoo, and asked if I had a snake too. I don’t. Yet. I did tell her that my sister had had a rosy boa though. At Red Onion I had ginger ale with lemonade, which was amazing. I also asked Layla what was spicy, and she told me the sandwich called Sassy, which I did get. I also got the photo of all three of us eating together. Then we got some ice cream. I got sea salt caramel ice cream at Kilwins, and Hannah got peach and mom got cookie dough. I loved the salt in the sea salt caramel. Mom and Hannah both liked Hannah’s best, and I liked mine best. The two workers at the ice cream shop also commented on my tattoo being cool, just like Layla had commented earlier. Then we drove back to the condo. Hannah and I went on a long walk on the beach, with the understanding that we’d read our books by the pool when we finished. Hannah and I talked about me feeling like I would never be happy, and also her grandma liking seashells, so Hannah picked up a bunch. One of those things might be more important than the other. Then we went to the pool and Hannah actually treaded water for 10 minutes, which was somehow related to the diving stuff she used to do. I set a phone timer for her. I decided to just try to do three minutes, which I successfully did after she successfully did her 10 minutes. Around that time I also went into the condo again to check if the family call was happening, but I realized my phone thought I was in Minnesota, so it told me to log on an hour early. Then I went back out to the pool and read a bit, and I also had chosen to get some long pants (capris) because of the sunburn I’d gotten while kayaking. So it was good I went in the house just because I grabbed those. What I did was I decided to re-read Harry Potter y la Piedra Filosofal in Spanish. I looked up a ton of words on SpanishDict. I’d already written in a bunch in pencil before the accident, and now I decided to write the new ones I was adding in the red pen from Trivia Mafia, which has blue ink and which I brought three of with me to Florida. Then after doing that for a bit it was 5pm, so time for the actual family zoom call. I went in and did it. Bailey was on the call and she talked a bit about her med school plan. Basically she’s gonna be a dermatology scribe, and is gonna apply to a lot of Midwest schools, and Utah. I know Caroline will be interested to hear about her plan. She also said she has a boyfriend named Nathan who might come to the cottage this year. I’m still really hoping that Hannah and Caroline can come too, but Hannah said that since she’s used up some of her vacation time on this trip, she’s not sure if she’ll be able to. After that, Hannah and I played a game of Canasta, which I also have a photo of too. She was winning and we didn’t finish. Then Hannah and I had some of the leftover Peruvian food for dinner, which was also close to the fat I needed for the meds. We had the leftover ceviche and the white fish and onions. I had my meds exactly 12 hours after my morning ones today, too. It was 8:15pm. Then after that mom said she thought the meal had been on the low side of fat count, so she gave me a piece of chocolate with 3g of fat too. Then we went back inside and straightened some stuff up and made some tea, and I had the black cherry. Then I worked on this, which Hannah told me is kind of like me having a bedtime habit, and isn’t too weird. Hannah also wrote my title for this entry. God now I’m just feeling like I’m certain my sunburn is gonna feel worse tomorrow, though my mom said it might feel better. We’ll see.
