Fogo with Roberto

Sept. 8, 2022: Had a decent night tonight at Fogo. This is a picture with a guy I knew before the accident, I’m almost certain his name is Roberto. I didn’t check though. He’s a busser. Today I worked with Israel, Amerti, and new girl on her first day named Ejatu. I didn’t ask where she was from, and she’s not on Hot Schedules yet. Today Israel trained her. Asked me if there was anything else she should teach her, and I suggested putting extensions in tables. Today Israel took Diane’s shift. I really wish Diane was the one who I was working with.

Today I also learned that we sometimes fill out slips of paper to give to Derrick for large reservations. I’ll check tomorrow what the number is for what counts as a large reservation, it’s written on the host stand. Literally being a hostess is so fucking easy. I knew it would be. We had some large parties today, a wedding rehearsal party that sat in Amazon and a different wedding in Brazil. So if people came in and said they were for the large party we should ask which one.

Today Connor also told me to walk slower, that I was leaving some customers “in the dust.” Matt is also aware of my hour restrictions and actually said that working more might put me “over the 15 hours.” It’s fine that he thinks it’s 15 not 18. Papa even said that I could work 20 with no problems. Maybe I’ll tell Matt that tomorrow. I didn’t get the chance to ask Matt what I can do to improve or ask him about how I’m doing and what to do better. Maybe I’ll ask Dr. Tonkin’s questions tomorrow. Matt said that he wants me to be able to stay later on Saturday, so I’ll plan on that. Israel is having her baby in December, I learned. Today I ate bottom sirloin and bacon wrapped steak that Patrick gave me. Weirdly I haven’t worked with the gaucho Kevin again. There were 255 reservations at the beginning of the night, so it wasn’t dead.
