Sept. 16, 2022: Today I forgot to take a selfie with Hannah when we went to Nolo’s this morning. Too bad. Papa said he hopes it’s the worst thing that happens to me today. It was. I also worked tonight and it was delightfully busy. About 330 reservations. I was decently happy tonight. I stayed a tiny bit late. Texted mom to pick me up at 8 and I stayed clocked in til 8:20 or 30. I don’t have my clock out slip unfortunately, and didn’t take a photo of it. I took a selfie with Diane and Brenda before it got busy. They’re my two favorite hostesses. Ejatu and Ava and Israel were also there. I think that was it.
I was at 6,997 steps at the beginning and over 14,000 at the end. So papa was right I did get to 12,000. Tonight there was also a customer who remembered me from when I was a server. And Matt talked a bit to him and confirmed that I would eventually be a server again. Thank god. I didn’t get the chance to ask him how I was doing, but just the fact that he’s certain I’m going to be a server again is enough. The guy who knew me was named Jake, I asked. He said that he also had had two TBIs. Didn’t say how he got them though. I also took a selfie with Israel tonight for BeReal. Surprised because in the past she hasn’t really liked photos. Told her about BeReal too. That’s Ejatu in the back. I had a good night tonight. Hope for a good night tomorrow too.
I drove to Fogo, but not back because mom took me and I was eating. Tonight Kenny asked me if I remembered his name. I did. I sat Jake and the lady with him at a good, window table, maybe Table 10 or Table 16. I’ll figure it out. I got pão de queijo at 9,000 steps tonight. Exciting. I also asked Teilor how he pronounces chão in Portuguese. I was right, it’s kind of like “shown.” Grayson also gave me a tray with one plate on it.
Also, Matt asked me to bus one table. I did it well. Though I was later bussing another table and in the kitchen a glass of water slipped a little bit when I was putting the tray down. Mistake, maybe?
