Fogo with Brenda and Rodrigo

Oct. 14, 2022: Well tonight I couldn’t stop thinking about how everyone else at Fogo had more independence than me. That’s a bad thought. I don’t know, I don’t know if there’s any way to stop it.

I’ll look at my notes now and see what else I wrote down... I do remember that one server gave me a hug in the bathroom. Basically she just asked how I was doing, and I was honest, and she asked if I needed a hug. I wrote down her name was Maggie. That makes sense, because I interacted with Maggie a lot tonight. Tonight Brenda planned mostly. And also there was a girl named Aliera who was new. It wasn’t pronounced exactly how it was spelled. There were 535 reservations tonight, so it was fairly busy. Israel was on books for most of the night, and I bussed a table or two. I also grabbed one light tray from the server Pedro. The new server who didn’t have a vest yet was named Joe.

I talked to Rodrigo quite a bit at the end, and he said he didn’t drive either. I asked how he got here and he said his boyfriend drove him. This was all in Spanish, by the way. Rodrigo asked if the photo was for my project, and I said it was. Even though the photo with him was actually for a BeReal. Saved it though. Earlier in the night I had also asked Brenda for a selfie, and she knows about the project too. I don’t think she knows how much I write though.

Tonight I stopped counting the number of times I put on my blueberry chapstick. I wasn’t doing anything with the number anyways.
