Dentist Work and Open Door with Liz

June 13, 2023: Well today the most important thing is that I found both of my notebooks. In the morning I was worried as heck about it, but later in the day I found both my notes notebook and the bigger notebook that I take all my therapy and job notes in. Basically first thing, I had my meds at 6:45am with a 12g fat set of Trader Joe’s yogurt that I’d bought with mom the other day. It was my last set of those yogurts. Then I also drove over to The Dentist’s House in Edina to have my appointment. On the way there I took a photo of Wooden Ship Brewing so I could ask Hannah if we’d been there. Apparently we had, but we hadn’t sat in the outdoor space, which would be awesome. At the dentist’s I was able to ask what kind of thing they rebuilt my front tooth with after the car crash. It was a cubic zirconia diamond. So now I have jewels in my mouth and metal in my legs. The dentist, Dr. Zingale, also had an interesting quote. He told me that in the first quarter century of my life I’ve had more challenges than most people have in a lifetime. He also said that he had been kind of surprised my mouth and teeth weren’t more screwed up by the crash. I just took a selfie when he was working on me, with the office person Cindy in the background. They both talked about how they’d known me for years and even treated my teeth and gave me fillings for the cancer treatment. Then, since I’d been looking at the Jinx Tea food truck outside his office the whole time, I went there after the appointment. I had a fizzy raspberry lemonade at Folly Coffee & Jinx Tea. When I was there I started doing some useful things. I created a new draft of my resume and I also created a Google doc with lists of words that I’d screenshotted from the Spanish game on the app QuizzLand. Then I went over to Papa’s house for a few hours, and ate brunch, which was eggs and Sam’s Club salmon pieces, and then later I had a plate of leftover baked beans too. I hung around there and continued working on my massive list of Spanish words I didn’t know. I still need to look up all the definitions at some point. When I decided to go back to my place, Papa actually came with me, and he helped me look for the two notebooks I couldn’t find. He found both of them! One of them in the bedside table, and the other in the back pocket of my gym bag for some reason. Stupidly I didn’t take a single note all morning because I didn’t have it. Just writing based off my text messages and screenshots so far. Then I did a little more Spanish quizzes, and played some more Palabra del día and "Countryle" and "Capitale," and went to Open Door for my 4:15pm shift. At Open Door my position was officially Bilingual Client Support Volunteer tonight, and I did a lot of that, including creating two or three new client profiles. A bit later I also had the best conversation ever with the new hire, named Liz. I told her a TON about me, and I literally even wrote in my notebook today, “BEST CONVERSATION EVER w/ Liz.” She we looked through my whole website and she said that she’d read some more of it later, and she also told me that she studied photography too and also thought she’d become a professional photographer just like I did. She did more portraits than candids, like I do. She also told me that when she first saw me she’d assumed I was a Russian translator, because of my name. I told her instead how I learned Spanish, and mentioned the boyfriend history too. Also today at Open Door I picked up the medication box piece that I’d left there the other day, and talked to Owen about it too. I also took the selfie with Liz, and I told her about this project and told her the reason for it too. She also told me that if I got the job at the school it would just be too bad that I’d be at Open Door less often. I still have a TON of questions I’d love to ask her, like what city she lives in and what she studied in school. I think it might have been photography, but I’m not quite sure about that. The only other thing I’m gonna say is that the two photos I have today are the live shot from the dentist, and the lovely selfie with Liz, or Elizabeth. I found out her last name from Owen when I was leaving, and have already added her on LinkedIn, since I’m already connected to the Open Door CEO on there. Oh and I also just remembered that I did my meds perfectly on time at 6:45am and 6:45pm, with a Trader Joe’s meal of butter chicken, for 13g fat, that I’d forgotten at Open Door the other day and used today. A good end to a good day.
