Coffee and puzzle and crab boil with Doucettes

Updated: Oct 25, 2023

October 21, 2023:

Ok, this is a hard day because I have too many photos of decent moments. Basically, I had my meds at 8:22am with a 7g yogurt with sunflower seeds to give it enough fat, which was actually a good combination. Surprised about that. Later, we walked over to Colorado Tap House to get coffee or drinks. Weirdly, I didn’t even order anything alcoholic, just an iced chai latte, and the cashier walked out and asked to see ID when Bailey and I had sips of mom’s Pumpkin Spice Mule. Today was also yet another situation where I might have liked my non-alcoholic drink better than the alcoholic one. I also had the thought today that the fact that I’m using that four-color pen I picked up at Sabathani that I like a lot, just shows that good things can come out of less than ideal situations. For our lunch, we went back to the house, and had some cheese and prosciutto and bits of something I forget, and like a slice of pizza. We actually also did a 500 piece jigsaw puzzle. It’s the one we ordered to be sent here, and the way it was laid out made it kind of very easy. The whole thing only took the five of us like two hours. It was me, Bailey, mom, Kirsten and Eleanor. Oh, and today I also decided my random leg pain is muscle pain, not bone pain, because I feel it a bit on the inside of my thighs sometimes. Today I also had Bailey print out a new copy of my insurance card, that the retreat asked for. About then, I also told her about any.do and how useful it was. That was actually how I was reminded about printing the insurance card in the first place, too.

A bit later, Jon decided to make something called a “crab boil” for a late lunch early dinner. It had like oysters and crabs and scallops and potatoes and other seafood, and we just ate it on the covered table with our fingers. Today, I also managed to read through all my notes from the past few days and make a couple additions, and then put pictures of all the pages into Adobe Scan, an app that I love. Frankly, I’m always going to be grateful to Dr. Enzler for telling me about apps you could upload photos to to save them. I also think that one of the only positive side effects of the brain injury is that I’ve actually grown to love taking notes. I also LOVE the 4-colored pen from Sabathani, which makes it much easier to put some notes in different colors and mark things I want to re-read. Didn’t get my BeReal on time today even though I saw the notification. It just didn’t load quickly enough to count. Tragic. Worst happening of the day, lol. My really cool accomplishment of the day was that I read through all of my notes, and created a list of “important thoughts” at the back of my notebook. Some of them are my realizations, but not all of them. I literally already have 47 “important thoughts” back there. We'll see how many I get to.
