Canasta with Papa and Cowboy Jacks with Heidi, Geo, Amanda, Sean, Gems

May 28, 2023: Meds at 8:01am with four slices of cheese for 11g fat. Then I went over to Papa’s house to do my laundry. I got there and did my laundry right away, and he decided to make breakfast, which I could eat because it was past 10:01am. I’m also dealing out some Canasta cards right now. Then we decided to eat breakfast at like 10:30ish, so more than two hours after the meds. He made some fried eggs on toast and we ate them with hash browns. Then we finished our Canasta game and I won, and he went to go grab something from the store so I checked in with Hannah and she said she’s seeing two Chianti friends get married in central Minnesota, so I can’t see her today, tragically. Turns out I am gonna see her sister Heidi though! She’s picking me up a bit after 4pm to take me to Cowboy Jacks. I did take my night meds at 4pm with a 13g fat Indian food and some of the hot mango chutney Papa gave me today, so now I’ve just gotta wait an hour our two before I have a beer. What we did to take up some of that time was we parked and then we actually walked into Fogo, and tragically no one I knew was working at the host stand. I did wave to some people I recognized, but no one I knew was there working at the host stand, which I'd been hoping for. Almost didn't add this in either. But anyways, that's how I wasted the time between the meds and actually eating/drinking. What I had done was I actually asked Heidi if she was eating there or not, and she’s having dinner afterwards, so I did the meds before. Funny because I’d already been thinking I might wanna talk to Heidi about some of her relationship stuff, so this was kind of a perfect end to my night. Funny also because Cowboy Jacks is somewhere I used to go with friends from Valleyfair too. So basically what happened is Heidi came and picked me up a bit past 4:30pm. Then she took me down to Cowboy Jacks, after the quick Fogo stop. We were supposedly watching her friend who’s a DJ, and Heidi said if I hadn’t gone she would have gone alone but she wouldn’t have enjoyed it as much since she’s not a huge EDM fan. It was amazing though. Kind of felt like one of the first times I’ve been “out partying.” I actually danced and I enjoyed it a lot. Heidi even took a short video of me that’s on my story now. We also met a ton of people who were distant mutual friends, and some of them are in the photo. In the middle photo it’s Heidi, Geo, Amanda, Sean, Amanda’s boyfriend Sean. Funny enough I talked to Amanda a lot, even though I accidentally called her Brittany. She actually knows Santiago from Fogo, who apparently worked with her briefly. Speaking of working, they loved the server at Cowboy Jacks and Amanda actually used one of my pieces of paper from my notebook to give her the name of their restaurant because they thought she did so well. I think her name was Sarah but I’m not sure. Totally unimportant. I did tell them about the TBI and accident and disability, but it wasn’t a huge conversation point. God it’s the next day, and I know more than this happened yesterday, but I’ll just leave it the way it is. At least I did tell Heidi yesterday that it felt like one of the first times I was out partying since the crash.
