Canasta, Pickleball, Fire and Mother/Daughter/Daughter

July 17, 2023: Ok lemme write through today. I just figured out the photos. So today the first cool thing that happened was I went on a walk with my aunts. I also had a great conversation with my cousin Casey on that walk. We talked about Spanish and going to the gym. I admit the aunts pulled ahead of us a bit, so I ended up walking with my mom for a bit too. Then, mom drove me to the cabin and I actually played 4-person Canasta with Kaky, Casey and Mom. We didn’t even bother keeping score, partly bc we weren’t quite sure how to do it for four person. It was amazing, though. Casey actually already knew how to play, we just had to teach my aunt Kaky. While we were doing that, my regular BeReal popped up today, at 11:16am, and I got it exactly on time, which was useful later in the day. For lunch we ate some leftover Portillo’s from Tom’s meal the night before. I also did one of my Mayo Pre-checks around that time, and then I joined another TBI support group at noon. It was nice, though my big takeaway is that I have way fewer physical issues than others on the call. Honestly I really do feel like I’m in better shape after the accident than I was before, even though I do walk a bit slower. Then I went into the main room and talked to Bailey a bit about who she’d gotten her letters of recommendation for med school from, and I told her about Caroline’s. I also told her how I text myself things to remember. Shortly after that, we decided to go to play Pickleball together. It was my first time ever playing, and there were quite a few things I didn’t understand. Cool game though. I also took a bunch of pictures of people playing with my actual camera, which are probably better than the extra BeReal I shot of it. And then what we did is we went back to the cabin and we did dinner, which today Kerry made. It was ribs and this cucumber salad, that was quite good. Kallen also made a Manitowish mule, which was basically like a Moscow Mule, but with cranberry juice. I also took my meds with dinner again, at 5:36pm. After dinner, Calvin made a fire and we sat around it. I was feeling a bit chilly, so I went inside and grabbed my mom’s red picnic blanket for warmth. And ok, now it’s the next day because I was too tired. The other cool thing I did yesterday, was I scheduled another appointment for Jessica for Thursday at 10am. Nice because I missed the one we had scheduled today because of the walk in the morning. No idea why I thought the appointment was the next day, I guess I just didn’t realize it was Monday. Oh and the other thing we did yesterday, is mom had me, her and Talia take a picture sitting by the fire, which I shoved into the bottom right even though I already put all three of my three BeReals from yesterday in there.
