Alright, I did an excellent job taking photos today. I’ll just read through them now. To start off with, I met up Bernie at the gym to do our workout, and we agreed to retake our photo because I had made some comment about how I was squinting last time and that that was symbolic. We decided that it’s the leg extension and the prone leg curl that are my weakest moves, probably due to the crash.
Working out with him went pretty much right up to the time I left for my Spanish-speakers meetup. I thought it was at 10am, and so did one other girl, named Vanessa. Everyone else came a bit later, and it turned into a bigger group then. Vanessa is the one on the far right of the photo I took of the table, which did not even come close to getting everyone in it. At any rate, I think the guy on the left in the photo I have is Jose from Spain, and then there’s Karina, who’s from Mexico. I also learned that today the girl who I was there with at the beginning, Vanessa, drove all the way from Eau Claire in Wisconsin. Later on, I also talked a bit to a guy named Zach, who said he met the organizer Diego from some zen group they were at in Apple Valley. It was cool that I happened to be wearing my Ecuador jersey today, which was totally unintentional but led to some interesting comments. After we had coffee, pretty much the entire rest of the group decided to go on a long walk together. I was a little nervous about getting ready to go drive down to Rochester to meet Daniel and his family, so I didn’t go, even though looking back on it I probably would have had time.
At home, I actually ended up reading through the entire first binder of my printed photos of the day. I’m on binder #3 right now, and I read through the entire first binder today. In a way, I was really most interested in any little emotional comments that I happened to throw in. Maybe I should do more of that now. I decided that in a weird way, I was happier back when I was very “unhappy,” because I still managed to care about little things in my life. Anyways, later on my mom drove us down to Rochester to meet up with a guy who happens to have my same cancer, though he takes very different medications than I do. When we all met up, I was forced to listen to some extensive discussions of my medical history, which kind of do “prove” to me that I’ll never emotionally overcome the cancer and the way it’s wrecked my life. At the end, my mom took a picture of me and Daniel out outside the restaurant in Rochester, which was called Tap House. Anyways, I went home after Tap House and took my meds with some vanilla ice cream at 8:28 pm, while I’d had my morning ones at 7:14 am when I finished a Häagen-Dazs vanilla yogurt with 11g fat.
