A bit of skin recovery and night time at home with Talia

OK, so I’ll try to write this briefly. At around 5am, I added a few of my wedding photos from Heidi’s wedding to www.anyamagnuson.com/wedding. Meds at 7:16am with scrambled eggs and hashbrowns. I also decided to add dates and names to my wedding page. Now it says things like: “Heidi and Jorge (2023).” Later in the day, my occuptational therapist Jessica stopped in to see me! Unfortunately, I didn’t take many pictures today, not even with Jessica when she stopped by. We definitely had a nice talk, though the more important talk of the day was with my therapist Whitney. It started like 5 seconds before I was done talking to Dr. Go, my main cancer doctor. I was like a minute late, which I even warned her about. In that session, we decided that I used to be 100% in denial about the cancer, and in a way, the TBI has opened my eyes to it much more. That does involve me getting quite a bit more affected by the problems caused by the cancer than I used to, when I was 100% in denial.

Anyways, now the surgury site is still causing a lot of pain, and I’m not pretending I don’t feel it or it isn’t that bad like I might have in the past. In an unrelated note, today I showed one of the trainee nures I had my snake tatttoo, since he had a full sleeve. The rest of the day was pretty much spent in preparation for discharge. Today, Papa drove me home since I really shouldn’t be driving for like a week or so post-surgery. At home, I wrote an updated Caring Bridge post that sumarized a lot of my time at Mayo this week. I was considering just pasting that here instad of writing a photo of the day, but decided to write this anyways. I also decided to stay here at Papa’s house for the night and possibly longer, because I still need a lot of help around the bathroom and things like that. At the end of the night, mom grabbed a picture of me and Talia when I was eating my medication meal of pizza with her. It was also around the time I was also showing her all of the new business cards I just ordered, 200 of them. It’s funny, at first they said that they’d be here on the 6th. I just checked, and now they’re apparently arriving the 11th, according to my emails.
