5-8 Club with Papa and Open Door with Owen

March 28, 2023: Well today was a pretty good day and I’m succeeding in writing my photo on the day of. Well this morning I also volunteered at Open Door though I didn’t take any photos. I worked the morning at Open Door and had a Danish Roll thing that no one knew the flavor of. I really just sat in the room with Ed and made reminder calls for tomorrow all morning. I also grabbed a raspberry champagne cheese cake slice just because I was thinking that I didn’t wanna buy lunch somewhere. Then instead I drove over to Papa’s and had lunch there and worked on my yearbook a ton. I had the 5-8 club buffalo chicken juicy lucy and last ate at 3:40. Then I worked on my yearbook a ton more and went back into Open Door for a night shift. The night shifts were supposed to be busy with lots of Spanish but this one wasn’t at all. There was also a new guy Owen who was subbing for the operations manager Sean for the week because Sean’s on vacation. I randomly felt like calling Owen “Sean” a lot. I talked to him a ton, which is why I took a photo with him. I told him about this project and what had happened with Lunds and even asked him if it looked like a cup of cashews was a quarter cup for my meds. He said he thought it was a quarter cup perfectly. So then I did have my night meds at 5:40 with a quarter cup of thai lime & chili cashews, which they had there and which were 14g of fat. I also told Owen a lot about my brain injury and how I feel like it limits me. Owen said that I’d do some client intakes, but then it was like the morning and not busy at all so I didn’t do any. Instead I painted a bowl for some project they’re doing and then went to the back room to help organize food. I only spoke Spanish once the whole night. Honestly what I learned was how much work they do organizing everything. I had no idea, honestly. And a bunch of the women wanted to stay til they finished organizing everything because it was the end of the shipment they’d received. So then I left at like 8:31.
