05-27-24: Before and after, plus card games + family!

May 27, 2024:

Ok for yesterday... it was Memorial Day! We met up around noon for a family lunch/celebration. In addition, Miguel stopped by and we all played cards together, which I failed to take a picture of. When he an I got there, Papa gave both of us the task of shucking some corn. Miguel had never shucked corn before, and he told me that it was fun to do it with me anyways. Then we sat down to eat hamburgers with my aunt, her boyfriend Bill, and also my grandma. Later on, we all played a lot of games! Maybe I forgot to take a photo because I was having such a good time! However. I got this one action shot from my dad the next day. My grandma, aunt Jodi, her boyfriend Bill, and my mom were all there as well. Tragically, Talia was working, so she couldn’t attend. We played Oh Heck and poker with dice (a contribution from Miguel), and Help Your Neighbor, or in Spanish, chingaquedito, which I think is a little bit of a bad word. It was wonderful to play family card games with Miguel too! Even though he won most of them tbh... And after we played, a lot of people sat in the front room, and Miguel and I sat in the dining room and we talked extensively with my grandma., my dad’s mother. The other random thing is that we took a BeReal together that I titled in Spanish, “the before and the after.” reacting to a past BeReal picture I’d taken in my apartment on 50th street, where I had lived before moving in with my dad on 42nd.
