Well, today was a very medically-focused day. After therapy with Jessica at 9am, Papa and I drove down to Mayo Clinic for an appointment at 1pm, which was “Mayo Neuropsych Testing.” I do NOT remember the last time I had a neuropsych test like that, but the woman who was giving me the test, whose name was Anna Markus, said that last time I’d been neuropsych-tested, I had also made some of the same mistakes that I made today! I don’t know if she did my test before... maybe and maybe not. But today I DID take a photo with her! I’ve also included a photo with Dr. Bergquist, who popped in after I tested with Anna. So I’ve got my picture of me and Papa in the waiting room with Dr. Bergquist, the photo of me and Anna after the testing, and then the two screenshots of the two times I took my meds today, which were at 8am with half an avocado, and 5pm with a McDonald’s cheeseburger that Papa bought me after the testing and doctor appointments. The other very EXCITING thing is that I have to go back to Mayo tomorrow to do a speech therapy consultation at 10am... my calendar says: “Mayo Speech therapy consultation, 9:45am for 10am appointment.” I called it “exciting” because Miguel is coming with me tomorrow. It will be the first time in many months that I’m not driving to Mayo with my dad, honestly. I’m sure I’ll still send him some text messages, but I LOVE that I’m able to do some stuff “more independently”.... I’ve already decided on which leggings I’ll wear, since I like to always put them on the night before, but I still have to decide what shirt I’ll use for my trip ro Mayo with Miguel! I’ve also got a note that I had Papa write today when I was driving him down to Mayo that says, “When driving, you need to limit anything that distracts you from driving and takes your eyes from the road.” That’s something my dad was telling me, and I’m 100% certain it’s excellent advice. I think he also said something about the brain injury affecting me related to things like that too! Waking up at 7am tomorrow for my meds, and 7:30am to leave for Miguel’s house!
