042724: FANTASTIC: Volunteering and Meds + food (and trivia)

APRIL 27, 2024

OK, starting this one today at least. Today I started off the morning VERY early, with my volunteer shift at Methodist. Today was their once a month early Saturday day, and I think they initially listed it at 6:40-something, but I didn’t get there til like 7:30, and I ended up being perfectly on time for when they actually started. It’s a program that gives out free food to anyone who comes, with no requirements based on income or anything. I vaguely remember that one of the organizer ladies made some comment near the beginning about how they often had like four translators, and “today it was just me,” at least for a while. Later on, another lady came too, and I actually had a wonderful conversation with her. Her name was Maria, and she was from Mexico City. I told her about first of all being inspired to learn Spanish by dating a guy from Ecuador, and she told me something about how dating someone was a fantastic way to learn. I think I also mentioned Miguel to her. Randomly, she literally told me that the way you’d say “vanilla shake” is “malteada de vainilla.” ANYWAYS, after I finished up there, I went home and ended up making some vaguely important posts on my Instagram story, including one that linked to Theatre in the Round’s post that included some of my photos. Ok, I’m just gonna add that photo to this page, in a vaguely creative way.

OH, and then I had wonderful l interactions at night.  too. I went to trivia with Liam today, and he brought his aunt and uncle with him, and his cousin Connor, who I sat next to. In the photo I have his  relative Lawrence, who I remember literally having a version of a business card with his name in the back of his phone. I vaguely think I took a picture of it, which I can’t find it at the instant.

OK.... BEST DAY! For pics I’ve got my pic for the fact I took my meds at 4pm with 13g fat mini chicken tacos from Trader Joe’s, me checking people in at Methodist this morning, working with Maria, and I also have Connor’s cheese curds with Lawrence, along with a screenshot of me sharing Theatre in the Round’s photos. Oh, and then at night Miguel taught me how to explain my parents’ relationship situation with some real details in Spanish. Love the way I have all these photos in here now! And love this project, as always.
