04.13.25: Bloody nose fixed, finally, maybe and DISCHARGE!

Seeing doctor Johnson, the ENT, a selfie with Miguel before he left to go home, taking a walk with a PT, Teri, and a glass of ice water that I enjoyed

Breakfast was late. I tried the French toast here and it was not very much like actual French toast. I had a rough night, because I kept having things go wrong with my bloody nose and I did not sleep well at all. Because my nose was all clogged, I had to sleep sitting up, and breath through my mouth mainly.

It took a really long time, but when the ENT finally came around 2 pm, he was nice. Dr. Johnson went to the University of Minnesota for college, although when I asked him where he went to medical school, he said “I didn’t” as a joke. He had me a hold a suction thing, and used chemicals to close wounds in both of my nostrils. The “better” nostril (my left) actually ended up being the worse one and he could not get it to stop bleeding, so I have a special cotton plug in it for now. The right side, which has been the worse one by far, actually isn’t bleeding after more cauterizing. I need to be very careful and not blow it at all. I can only pat or wipe if it drips.

Also today, a physical therapist named Teri came by and brought me a chair that was more comfortable for me to sit in. We also took a nice walk together just around the ward.

But the real exciting news for the day is that I’m going to be discharged TODAY. They said they were comfortable letting me go home on oral antibiotics since I’m stable and my nose is OK too. We’re just waiting to get those prescriptions filled and then we will head home.

I am looking forward to experiencing the house again and especially sleeping in my own bed.
